Air Temperature Sensor
 

Does anyone know where the air temperature sensor is on the crossfire.

the temp sensor sticks out of the lower front-end plastic grill area on the driver side....kinda hard to see but it's on the right hand side of this grill insert.

Thank You for the reply but I am talking about the sensor that reads the temperature of the incoming air into the air box, which will adjust the engine settings. Is this what you are referring to? Thanks again for the help.

nope...i was referring to the outside temperature sensor. sorry...i can't help you with this one.

Your MAF Sensor, is your Intake Temp Sensor. If you don't know were that is located its under the back of the air box. Its cylinder shaped, and has a clamp the wraps around it, and Attaches its to the engine block. Good luck. If that isn't what your looking for, ask away. I will be more then happy to help.

Thanks for your help. The reason why I ask is I owned a 2001 Camaro Z28 and used a
Air Temperature Module from SLP Performance which plugged into the air temp. sensor. It made the PCM believe the incoming air was cooler than it was. It always worked well in the summer when you can feel a slight loss of power due to the warmer outside temperature. Due you think this would work well with the Crossfire.

did the same on an 92' corvette...i had back in the day.

The Crossfire is not as user friendly has say your 01 Camaro, or the Vette. I did the same thing to my Silverado. You can't screw around with the these Sensors, they are way to sensitive. The other thing in addition, is Mercedes Electrical system Sucks. I mean it fluctuates like crazy when just in Idle. The alternators are about as useful as a paper weight, and a lot of the Key components that should have a direct connect set up, are all looped in with like three different Access. I would be stoked if someone would pull out the electrical system, and re-do it the right way. It may be just me, but every American car that I owned, I have never had these kinds of issues. It maybe acceptable in Germany, but isn't acceptable in my house.

If your thinking about buying that resistor on ebay don't. We don't have iat sensors, been there done that.
