clutch linkage or shift cables needing adjustment
my car had manual transmission 2nd very rough when shifting.
replaced the transmission with a used 1.
problem is, now ALL 6 are hard to shift. no noises, just very hard.
when googled, i read that clutch linkage or shift cables need adjustment, but does not explain how.
does any1 know how? details? or a link?
thanks

thanks. i went there. thanks again. still, it does not tell anything regarding adjusting it.
i would like to find a source where to get part #1 in the schematic. https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/part...t_control.html
i think it is the most likely to be creating the problem of gears shifting hard.
problem is, the part is no longer available. you have to buy the whole thing for about $1000.
there is (was) 1 available somewhere in russia but is not sure that i may get it.

the line itself is discontinued from Mercedes with no remaining stock, the assembly is also discontinued but i found 2 still existing around half the price you quoted above, if you want me to try to pull it in let me know.
thanks. i appreciate your effort to help.
wonder why mercedes did this, as there are many cars that may need just it? it was shown separately at a time.
but the thing is, i only need that part.
i am considering rebuilding it is a more practical solution.
will tell...
once again, thanks for your intention to help.

i cant believe that there were 14,000 xf released with manual tx and so far i havent seen any comment regarding this failure!
and perhaps also some in the 2001 slk 320 mercedes, that is identical mechanically (except the wheels, of course).
and also why mercedes did not keep selling just the cable?
does it mean that is only mine where the cable has failed?

yes please. PM me.
eventually, the cable was lubed and now all is well.
end of the quest.
end of the quest.
