Cat needs replacing after only 2,000 km's.

Hello,

I'm just throwing this out to the masses to comment on. I took my Xfire to the dealership to find out why there is exhaust rattle sound coming from underneath the car, it started about three days ago. To hear the service guy say i need a new cat as it is stuffed came as a shock as the car has only been driven around for only 2 months. Has this happen to anyone else? I kindly told the dealer if this is the beginning of my problems purchasing this car, I'm not going to be happy at all, as my last car I owned for nearly 5 years never had one problem during that time.

Regards
Scott W.

my guess would be... some of the honeycomb/guts came loose inside. rare to see...but i have heard of it in the past with other new makes.

I had that happen on one of my previous cars, but it had about 75K miles on it at the time. The honeycomb came loose from the can and would rattle like crazy.
