CHEAP OIL CHANGE! Under $60
Advance Auto Parts in my town (Terre Haute) has 5qt of 0w40 mobil 1 synthetic and mobil 1 filter for $29.99!!! You can purchase more than 1 of the specials!!!! So 2 times the money is $59.98 and you end up with an extra quart and an extra filter. I just bought 4 specials so i have my next oil change and 3 extra quarts and 2 extra filters for $119.96!!!!! A flippin steal!!!!!
wow! That is an excellent deal. I must stop at the Advance Auto Parts on my way home. Thanks for the heads up. Also, if you remember from earlier this year when Mobil 1 was having problems making enough mobil 1 they were offering a rebate offer - it may still be up on the mobil 1 website? It was buy 5 quarts, get $10 back! And you could do the rebate two times - so, you could possibly do the cheapest oil change ever performed on a crossfire...

Just go to their website and then click promotions and its at the bottom left... I didn't even check to see if there was a print section... I just don';t even mess with mail-in rebates under 50 bucks...too much hassle.
My local store did not have the Mobil 1 filter, and would not sub another brand or order one.
Were you able to get the correct fiberglass filter with your oil deal?

They only had the paper Purolator Brand in stock. I got the purolator for this change and the ordered 2 Mobil1 filters for me. They are the good ones! SO I have 15 qt and 3 filters for $90.00!!!!!!! WHOOP!!!!!
Here's how I took advantage of the Advance Auto Mobil 1 oil change sale.
They do not show a Mobil 1 Oil Filter being available for the Crossfire.
The Purolator filters are paper and will not last long enough to take advantage of the Crossfire's approx 7000 mile or 1 year oil change cycle. I would not use a paper filter in my Crossfire. I've seen one after 5000 miles of use, and it just dissolved.
However, they do carry K&N Oil Filters for the Crossfire. These are the proper fiberglass filter. The K&N stock number is HP-7004. These are repackaged Mann (made in Germany) filters. They even have the Mann stock number on them.
If they do not have these filters in the store, they are rapidly available from their warehouse. The K&N filter is a normally stocked item.
The bad news is that these filters are $19.99 each. $6.00 above the $13.99 allowance for the Mobil 1 filters, as advertised.
I asked the store MANAGER if I could pay the difference and purchase 3 of these specials. He first checked to verify that a Mobil 1 filter was not available, ( the computer said - no) and then he ordered the K&N filters for me. Delivered to the store the next day.
3 Mobil 1 0w40 oil change specials (15 quarts of M1 0w40) = $90.00 + tax
3 K&N HP-7004 filters = + $18.00 + tax.
and I basically have 2 oil changes and 3 filters.
Not a bad deal.... If the store has or can get the Mobil 1 filter, Great!, but this worked out for me.

I got my 10 qts of 0W40 and 2 purolator filters from Advanced for $67.99 minus $20.00 rebate = $47.98. I've always used purolator without any problems.
So I just ordered this special from Advanced Auto Parts.
Sad for me no Mobil1 Oil Filters.
The reason I had to post up is because they are giving me the K&N Filters for the same price (K&N Part #: HP-7004).
The filters are special order (as is everything for our cars) so I paid full price for the two filters ($43.08 for two w/ tax) to get them ordered, then tomorrow I will go pick them up and 'return' the filters and then he will re-sell me the specials at $29.99 each.
Heck yeah.
So now I have an extra K&N oil filter for the crossifre. Anyone want it? PM me offer. I know its not that big of a deal and I may just keep it...
Anywho. For anyone in Chicago area I got this from the Advanced Auto Parts in Villa Park (860 N. Addison Rd. Villa Park, IL (630) 458-0201)

An FYI- just got back from Advanced Auto and the sale is going on (again/still?). As for the filter issue mentioned previously in the thread- their computer did show a Mobil 1 filter available for the Crossfire(I think it was 19.99- or $6 above the filter allowance), but the computer did not show if it was a fleece or paper filter. Because of this, I requested the K&N filter(now priced at $25.99) and offered to pay the difference(25.99 less the 13.99 Mobil 1 allowance) which they accepted. Always fun to find a deal!
