Default Ordered the OBX ( Borla copy ) cat back

I pulled the trigger on an OBX stainless cat back which is a direct copy of the Borla, except the total out of pocket was $334.
It should arrive the middle of the week, I'll post with installation notes and an audio/video of the results.

Been wanting a Borla since I got the roadster, just couldn't see the $700 + asking price.
Maybe I got ripped off, maybe not .....
I'll know in a few days.

One thing I do know is that within 1 hour of making the PayPal payment, the item was marked as shipped, then 1 hour after that I got an email from FEDEX that they had picked it up.

We'll all be interested in how it sounds. And fits, but that should be pretty straightforward. You know my schedule. I'll be glad to lend a hand when I can!

OBX cat back arrived today, very nice looking SS unit.
This cat back is a Borla copy, it is in 3 pieces :
the resonator.
the muffler.
the pipe clamp.

I removed the OEM and installed the OBX in about 2 hours.
I REALLY like the looks and sound.

I will be taking some pictures and making a video this weekend when I visit maxcichon and will post them.

Bottom line :
I am 100% happy with the EBay transaction, the shipping, and the results.

Can you describe the sound in comparison to the stock exhaust and the Magnaflow 16633 catback?

I drove a Limited with the Borla, and if the OBX system is anything like the Borla, it's an even split between OEM and Magnaflow.

Just a few decibels louder than a rear cat delete... not obnoxious at all. Zero drone, thanks to the resonator.

I thought the SRT6 has a resonator. Was there any problem installing it in the NA?

None at all. BTW, my N/A is a roadster that also has the additional bracing.
The bracing has to be removed for the installation.

I have a roadster I never had to remove any a bracing to put the Borla on, but it came in two pieces , I've had mine for about 5 years now I did away with the resonator, too quiet for me, by your picture looks like that muffler is all one piece . just make sure you get all sealed up good cause I'll throw a p2098 on you , good luck with your installation

I'm sure you are correct, I did see where it would be possible to install with the brace still in place.
But since I did this single handed it was much easier to do with the brace removed.
( I had also asked maxcichon, and he is never wrong. He said I HAD to remove the brace )

Nice looking system! Got me thinking of doing the same for my 2007 model.

Just bought one and I'll report back when it shows up next week. Offered and got it for $330; seller automatically rejected $320. Still seems like a deal as long as it's good as described!

Well, I'll beat Alaxfire to it: It sounds great! Throaty, not as loud as my Magnaflow catback. Droneless. He will do his best to post a couple of video clips we took today.

NOTE: if you really want to listen to an exhaust sound clip, use a real audio system. All I can hear on my laptop speakers is wind noise. Played through my home audio system (Yamaha, Klipch), it sounded just like it did while riding along.

Great buy.

It is as good as described. ( you got yours for $4 less than I offered )
One thing I didn't do, and still may do : The OEM has a rubber bumper in the center that is intended to prevent the muffler from flying up and hitting the bumper cover when on really rough roads. The OBX has an area for this, but no hole to mount the rubber bumper.
I may drop mine and drill a hole and mount the rubber bumper.
Not looking forward to it.
The entire swap process took me 2 hours : 1 hour and 50 minutes of that was getting the 2 muffler hangers loose to remove the OEM muffler.

HINT :
1. Jack up the rear and place on 2 jack stands.
2. Remove both rear plastic diffuser pieces.
3. Use the jack to now raise the muffler as high as it will go to remove as much tension on the muffler hangers as you can
4. You can now go into each side in the diffuser area and get the hanger donuts off.
( Don't try to get the top part ( on the body ) loose, get the part on the muffler off.

When you install the new OBX, go ahead and tighten up the clamp, but leave the 3 bolt collar ring loose. Have someone do an alignment to get the 2 oval tips even, then while they hold it in place, tighten up the 3 bolts.

Great sound and no drone!

Very similar to the cats delete mod sound:
