Crossfire Forum Information for All ?
Hi All.
Another thought reference the proposed club and all future crossfire gathering's. Currently our posts will always only be read by viewer's of Crossfire Forum Org. which limit there exposure
Do any of us (regular posters) have the PC knowledge to constract and put a message on the www for all UK Crossfire owners to view? Currently there is no UK Crosfire Owners Club mentioned on the www I have looked from the first day of ownership to date and only found the Chysler PT Cruiser Club.
I'm not suggesting at this point we start a X/F club. But could we not just inform other viewers of the Crossfire Fourm Org site, with a simple message containing key pick-up words, ie Crossfire,Car,Owners,UK,Club etc which are certain to be used by those's looking for UK X/F Club info. Hopefully this will incress our contact with other like minded crossfire owners and should eventually when the numbers and interest have incressed, we could then give some serious thoughts to starting a crossfire club.
I only found out about Crossfire Forum Org by being informed by another crossfire owner, and not locating it myself from the WWW
What do you all think?
Ken.

Do you have a Crossfire? I would be interest to know where you collected and how you arrived at a total of 15 UK Crossfire owners? I would be interested to have their detail's and inform them of our meets etc.
Thanks
Ken.

Ken ,
I do indeed own a crossfire for all my sins . I'm afraid the '15' estimate was off the top of my head , they dont seem to be the most popular car in the UK as i'm sure you have noticed . I never seem to see any around .
Which in a way is why I love owning one .
So do you have some sort of club? what do meets involve?

Hi Gary, Good to hear you also have a Crossfire. Unusual yes, and real head turner's. I belive all Crossfire owner's feel like you about ownership, and not being a popular run of the mill car is a bonus. Do read all the post related to crossfire meets and photo's etc and you will glean a better idea of what we Crossfire owners are about. Eight of us arranged the first meet last Dec 30th which resulted in a very successful day
Look forward to meeting you sometime

Hi Ken,
When I get time I can put something up on my site. looking at the stats about 70% of the traffic comes from the States about 10% from Germany and the rest from the UK. It often depend on what I have posted here though. Two years ago you could count the UK hits on one hand, so I guess things are changing! A lot of the Crossfire searches seem to be from the US and for performance parts. I've not checked recently though.

Ken,
building websites is actually my thing. I teach in the day and run several internet businesses on the side. I am retiring from teaching in the summer to do this full time. I have about 35 sites currently all on seperate domains. I own a private server located in Dallas Texas.
To give you some idea of my level of expertise please see http://www.saltbarandkitchen.co.uk - this is a potential location for a meet by the way -for an example of a small business site. http://buynaturalprogesterone.co.uk for a salesy type site with articles, most of my others are storefronts with huge databases behind them.
My suggestion would be to build a fairly simple site with development scope and add a forum on the backend.
A nice header graphic with some pictures of our cars, reg no's obscured! I can set this up so that various people will be able to add pages about themselves, their car and so forth. I would say maybe 3 hours for me to set this up.
I am happy to host the site free of charge on my server and will chip in a domain name too ( i get these very cheaply a .co.uk works out about £4 per year, a .com the same, .org.uk I am not too sure of but the same or less for each year of registration.
crossfireowners.org.uk or crossfireownersclub.org.uk would be good. Let's have some suggestions on this!
I am a whizz at search engine optimisation and could probably get it ranking on the front page of google in a month from building.
Salt ranks on the front page of Google for Hythe marina, hythe pubs, hythe restaurants and so on and hasn't moved for 2 years
If you want to talk with me about this PM me and I will give you my phone number. Happy to chat.
Jean

Hi Jean, wow you've not had a good day ! Seems your car has been a magnet for all the numpties in town today, sounds like it going to be complicated to sort it - good luck! Just been been reading about your web expertise, did'nt realise you were so involved in your own web design, your sites are very proffessional. Having given some thought to the UK Crossfire Club idea, I'm confident that over the coming months enough interest will come from owners to seriousely consider setting it up. Kens thread, asking for UK owners to make themselves known is gradually buliding up, so lets see where it takes us. Then we can find out what people want and how it can be best achieved. I reckon its something to be discussed at a future date when we know more. Good luck sorting your car !
Cheers, Steve

Thanks for the kind words..but without the regulars arranging Crossfire meets in their area, none of the past events would have happend.
How about UK Crossfire Club, it belongs to all of us.
Ken
How about a Wales meet sometime in September..nothing has been put forward for that month. Any Crossfire owners living in that neck of the woods fancy arranging something?
