Headlights look foggy (dirty)
QUESTION-
I recently aquired a SRT6, a the headlights seem dirty or foggy on top, is this a common problem??
Should I bring this to the dealer attention?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Thanks for the tip. Just getting used to the endless information on this forum, it's amazing!!
I would I tell if it's on the inside?? I'm not to auto savvy so bare with me if that is a dumb question. That thread you directed to me to is great. If I can't clean it off, I guess it's back to the dealer I go.
THANKS AGAIN!!

I think i have a combo of inside and outside. I would say the easiest way for me to tell was to just wipe my finger across the haze. If it fades and comes back right away its on the outside, if not it's either reallllly caked on or on the inside. The haze has an almost purple-blue color also.

sand them down really well with some super fine sand paper.. maybe a 1000 or 2000 grit. then get maguiars plastic X and buff them out with that. works like a charm and looks brand new!. be sure not to get it on the paint though!
If it is on the outside and still under warranty, the dealer should replace the headlights. Had mine replaced with two weeks left on the warranty for free. The TBS only deals with water moisture on the inside.

They did the TSB and it did nothing.... They just replaced the headlights, and they look great.
Are these a new version, will they have the same problem??
Thanks for all the tips...This sounds really helpful...and to think i was ACTUALLY trying to buy new headlights all together!!!!!! I have this "HAZE" on both lamps very bad.....makes me feel like my baby's sick or something lol
I polished and polished with "Scratch Out", common stuff found at any regular store, like walmart. I don't know if I'd say they're good as new, but they definately look very fancy again.
Funny this thread came back today. I just did my headlights with the Meguiar's PlastX. I bought it at WalMart for about 5 bucks. I spent about 10 minutes on each headlight applying the PlastX using a wax applicator. It works well for removing the haze at the top of the lights, but understandably doesn't do much for the small rock chips and deeper scratches in the lens. Overall I'm happy with the results! I'll probably do this each time I wax my car (which I also did today).
Check out my thread if you're looking for perfection:

Just found out that haze on headlight was covered on my 05 roadster. Local dealer said they will be replaced under warrantee. This site probably saved me alot of money because I had no idea they would be covered and was suprized with dealers answer.
I wish I had documented my recent experience with this...But there is a product made by Crystal view chemicals inc. go to: myheadlight.com I have an 05 and dealer refused to replace mine. So I procrastinated. My lenses were actually pitted in some spots with a yellow sun damage.
I bought this little kit and I was shocked at the results (15 bucks) I ahd ordered new lenses and cancelled.
If nothing else save those old lenses for experimental product testing.

when first got my car i complained and the dealer went in and it looked like they took a wire brush to it or something which got the fogy out but just scratched it and now a year later its worse then it originally was. i am going to get this headlight stuff that a friend that works at advanced auto told me to grab and it has a lifetime guarantee.
