The third stop lights don't work!!!! Why???

Hi there! Just Yesterday, a friend of mine who was following me, told me that the third large central brake light below the wing on my Roadster Ltd doesn't work; the car has about 20,000 miles, always serviced and garaged and I do not have installed anything that can cause this electrical problem; did it happen to somebody else? I opened the trunk and checked the wirings but everything look in perfect conditions and in right position. The other two brake lights on the left and right side work prefectly. Any suggestion?

Sad to say, but if it is getting the 12 VDC when it should, they have been known to fail.:(

It may look fine, but put a meter on the wires and check for 12 volts, no current = no lights Have someone sit in the car and put their foot on the brake. If the current is there then the unit is bad.

I am going to do this to see if the unit is...gone :-( By the way, any idea on the price to replace the complete LED unit :-( Thanks in advance to everybody.
