HID's on high and low beams?

The HID's on the lows really shows up the OEM bulbs which look like yellow fog lights in comparison.
Who has fitted HID's to the high beams, Woody Waldig has and seems quite satisfied.
So they take a second or three to warm up, so what. If the lows are much better you would not need them instantly except to flash someone.
What is the general opinion?

Hmm, i think BMW overcomes this problem with dual beam HID's which heat up your highs while your lows are on.... Sadly, thats not an option here...

Most peeps i've talked to do not replace their high beams with HID's because of the delay, but I guess alot of it depends on where you are driving. Personally, I have 55W HID's for my low beams, and it delivers a medium beam strength, so i hardly even use my Highs even on a lonely highway.

I may be old fashioned (or ignorant:D ) but the factory hi beams sure are bright enough for me. If/when I go to HIDs Im going to do the low beams (around 5k) and then the fogs (around 4300k)

I agree about the highs.............I have Silverstar Ultras in lows and highs and I find the lows and fogs are quite sufficient as is. This is why I have not done the HID's yet.
