Hardtop for Roadsters?

Anyone have any info on putting a hardtop on a SRT6 Roadster? Can it be done? Will a 2004 SLK 320 one fit?

An SLK320 top will not fit, the cars are not even close when it comes to roof lines when you look at the details.

I would have to think it would be a terribly expensive, one off, type thing, but who knows. I have yet to hear of anyone doing it.

I think if you were to do it, it would be incredibly cool :D

Lars it's been discussed here before, just do a search of "Removable hardtop". Here's the thread I started a while back:
https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...e-hardtop.html
If I had a roadster, (and I drove it year round) I think I would probably try to have a fiberglass top made by the same shop that did my hood. Those guys can build anything.
Something along the lines of the C1 Corvette removable roof. I think the curved profile of the Vetts top would flow quite well with the Crossfire Roadsters tail, and it would offer excellent visibility as a bonus.
Just by using the XF's current convertible top "header" that fastens onto the windshield housing (from a salvaged roadster) a fabricator could probably come up with something. If for no other reason it would be something different, and take it from me it's fun having one of none.:D
It's going to cost several thousand dollars though.
Any investors?;)

I think it would be fairly easy to design and build a fiberglass top that could be removed , following the lines of the ragtop and would probably look pretty good.... imo  might be pretty expensive also...:(

If no one has successfully made side strakes or a front lip for the car, that would be marketable to 98% of owners and cost a lot less than a top, what makes you think they can do a high quality, good looking hard top?

Maybe its my cynicism, but we don't have a great track record.

Side skirts anyone?
