high beam flash

I replaced my low beam headlight bulbs, all lamps are working, but now can't flash high beams with the turn signal stalk. High beams go on when pushing stalk forward.

I don't see how this can have anything to do with replacing bulbs.

THIS is a GOOD one! ;)

there was another recent post about that. I forget what the fix is. I'll find it and post here later.

Are your FOG LIGHTS turned on?

I can't find the post I recently read but I was just going to ask him if his fog lights were on. Seems to me if the fog lights are on that pulling the stalk back will not activate / flash the high beams.

Re: high beam flash

Pulling the stalk toward me does NOT flash the high beams fog lights or no, UNLESS the engine is running, then the high beams will flash regardless of the fog lights on/off.

OK so the engine has to be running to activate the high beams by pulling the stalk back toward you?

I asked...and Asked again...and asked Again one more time. No one knew of the mystery: "my high beams don't work by selecting the lever ON for high beams? So I had to go to the Chrysler dealer! YIKES!

Well there is a problem and it is not the Fog lamp issue. Yes if your Fog lamps are on your high beams will not come on at the same time, but will come on and turn off the fog lamps automatically.

What is bad is in your turn signal. Yes they have to open the steering wheel (dang Bags) and replace Part Number #5098519aa the switch turn signal. Try to buy the part first otherwise good ole Chrysler will charge you $359.10 for the part. It took these guys 4 hours to replace it.

They work just fine now. I am sure it would be cheaper if someone would have know, so I am passing this on. You guys have always given me great advice, and now I am returning the part number and what has to be replaced. I hope this helps!

That was a Chrysler part number.

Just put on my 36000 mile on the Toy!

So I guess at $359.10 for the part plus labor this fix is more than just a simple flash in the pan repair. Ouch!
PS
You do not want to see what others sell it for.
Spoiler alert.

The Mercedes and the Chrysler can be had for about $230 elsewhere.
The Mercedes part is probably #170 540 03 44
Chrysler part is #5
098519aa as you said.
I did warn you.
