Need help - Screw next to trunk latch won't bite
Hey folks!
The two screws next to the trunk latch were rusty so I removed them removed the rust repainted them and now wanted to put them back in! Only problem is the screw on the left bites, the one on the right doesn't so I assume something shifted in there in the meantime. Here is a picture of what screws I'm talking about (The crossfire in the picture is not mine, I found the picture on the Internet): http://www.slypix.net/crossfire/DSC_0059.JPG Assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanks and have a good weekend, Nick |

Best I can recall, those 2 screws go into welded-on nuts on the handle assembly.

It seems something fell off so I believe it was one of the nuts behind there but I have no idea how to get in there... |

Re: Need help - Screw next to trunk latch won't bite
Take off the rectangular trim piece inside the trunk hatch (the one with the pull down handle) and you'll be able to see the trunk release and go from there.
SIDE NOTE: there is a small circular cover inside the pull down handle... remove this cover with a small flat head screw driver and remove the torx screw inside... then pry the plastic trim cover from the rear hatch. |
