Fair enough, just a heads up to those folks looking at them. So far the units I listed in the guide have been tested I winter cold and summer heat in the actual car.

little confused as to which lights are canbus versus non canbus based on how the posts were written.

Can I assume all the following external lights are all canbus...

rear taillight/stop light (Is this a single bulb with two filaments?)

front and rear side markers

front top parking lights

high and low beams

fogs ??

These are the only ones I would be changing

Are the fogs

I specified in each bulb which is canbus and which is not. The canbus or not designation is right before the actual link to the bulb if you read closely.

so the canbus or not canbus on the line refers to the circuit itself..........not the bulb link itself

No, it refers to what each of those bulbs in the links is type wise. Either CAN BUS enabled or not.

Question...

I am planning on using non Canbus leds and cut the wire to the led in the dash (as per the other threads). Does a Canbus light out condition cause and issues passing the state inspections (like NY)? I don't recall any OBD tests that would care but I don't want this to come back and haunt me at the last second trying to get an inspection which is always the case when you have a bunch of cars and they HAVE to be inspected every year to fund the state's and small business coffers.

Nah, unless they manually check for lights out on the car. I haven't heard of any state doing a lights inspection when you go in for the annual emissions test and such.

LEDs do not work for low/high beams. They do not have the right light projection inside halogen type housings. HIDs are the way to go for now. Fogs on the other hand do. Phillips makes a kit thats 365$ and actually puts out better light than halogen bulbs.

First post now contains a link to the more powerful version of my personal LEDs. They are the 30 watt version I mentioned in the bolded text.

Finally caved and bought some LED headlights. I had a 15% off coupon from HID Extra due to being a repeat customer of theirs. I bought a set of their RAZIR LED headlights. I'll provide some more insight on them once I receive & install them.

I also bought those plug & play LED license plate lights (the whole assembly) from eBay.

LED plug and play headlights will perform extremely poorly in halogen projectors unfortunately. Plus they glare extremely badly too lol. You can put them in your high beams if you want as drls

They'll still no doubt be better than the awful HID's I've dealt with in the past.

Why not just go to a Morimoto kit, and call it a day with good lighting and great reliability?

You'll never get the kind of output I have in my low beams from LED kits.

Like I said before, i've had nothing but bad experiences with aftermarket HID kits over the years. I have had 3 different brands of HID's in 2 different cars, all of which were referred to me as being "reputable" companies that people swore by. All of the kits were installed properly, ballasts secured properly, etc. And all 3 kits ended up biting the dust within a short period of time. After my most recent bad experience with HID's I decided to try going a different route and see if I have any better luck.

On a side note, I received my tag light LED's yesterday (the full assembly shown on page 1) and i'm somewhat at a loss as to how these are installed. They don't exactly appear to be "plug & play". Any input from someone who has installed these?

License Plate LED Light No Error for Mercedes W211 E320 E500 AMG S211 C240 Wagon | eBay

You have to slide the old ones sideways against a spring thingy and they come out attached to the harness. Unplug from the harness, plug in the new ones and insert back in place.
You'll see which way to slide them by trying, I have forgot which way. The new ones are made the same way so study them. You do not have to take the bulb and lens off to do it.

Alright thanks. So essentially the whole assembly slides to a certain direction and then pops out?

***Edit: So I actually just went out to my car and was able to figure it out. Well, the left side at least.....lol. The left side tag light assembly came out with relative ease. The right side seems like it will need some persuading in the form on a small flathead screwdriver to break it loose. Anywho, I plugged in the left side and got it popped into place and it works flawlessly. Hopefully i'll get the right side unit in place this evening once I have access to a screwdriver.
