Try ebay, A guy has sold two pairs of mirror covers and front grill covers recently, both items were under $200 combined. I think he gets them made in Taiwan and shipped over, but can't be sure...just keep checking ebay, also thats about 1/3 rd of the startech cost...Quality is very good also, I got a pair as did Cyril Baldwin.

I bought the grill and mirriors from him, he had fast shipping and they fit and look perfect. Where did you see the car with the chrome, anywhere in IL,?

I paid 98 + 10 shipping for the grill and 100 + 8 for the mirriors, (covers) alot better than what they go for from the other guys, and it's the same thing.

Dan, I made those lower grills myself. I bought some chrome mesh grill from Autozone for $34.00, cut it to the shape of the plastic ones and bend the edges to secure it and then snap it back in place...it's tight so it should secure itself. It's easy to remove the plastic ones, start at the middle when prying it out with a screwdriver...just be real extra careful though. I only used half of the mesh grill so you can share it with your other XF.

I copied your lower grilles Cyril. Alum Mesh and just bent it. How did you secure yours? I have a very tight fit, so I don't think it will fall out at all, but just in case I have 2 clear zip ties on the top of each.

Now I am gonna look into getting some stainless steel mesh to try to make a new main grill.

Watched the E-Bay auction on the chrome parts. The grill went for $325.00. That is too high for my budget. Also noticed that the guy that was selling the grill has the side chrome on E-Bay, but the price is up to over $200 with days to go. Hope the future parts don't go that high.

Send your parts out to the shop in JFK's post. Looks like they will do it reasonably. Everybody that reads this forum is bidding against themselves since jackie_tw was posted. Jackie is the only one who will benefit.

I emailed Jackie to see about a possible group purchase price for these parts. Will let everyone know what I find out when I hear back from him.

I was also bidding on ebay last night until I saw that the price for the front grill covers got as high as the ones from startech-ouch! I was bidding on several items at the same time, and mistakenly purchased the chrome mirror covers for $160.00 plus $8.00 shipping.

I may or may not be interested in keeping these, will wait to see if I can get the grill and side gill pieces first. If I decide to part with them and anyone is interested in the chrome mirror covers, I would consider selling them for the same price I purchased them for. Just let me know.

Ruzo

I think they're happy with the Ebay bidders right now...most of them are buying their stuff like crazy! The bidders are paying three times the price I paid for mine when jackie's not yet popular in this forum. Side gills for $280...that's more than what CTD-Germany is asking!
