Srt6 Base Plate
Srt6 Base Plate
I finally acquired an srt6 wing and base plate, actually the entire hatch so I still have some spare parts if anyone is looking
including the letters, emblem, latch hardware still available.
However, the previous owner of this hatch has repaired the leaky spoiler in a very painfull way. He seems to have epoxyied it all the way around. I managed to get the wing off unharmed, but the base plate is another story. Parts of it have fractured, mainly on the underside so repair will not have to be perfect, and one 3 way crack on the top beside the driver wing mounts. All of the studed areas are unharmed.
My question is if anyone has repaired the base plate and with what agent. Epoxy, resin, bondo, etc. Or is this a lost cause. If so I am in the market for a srt6 base plate which is even harder to find then the spoiler was.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can post pictures this weekend if it helps the cause.
Thanks

Re: Srt6 Base Plate
Sorry Squirrel Crusher, I do not have the brake light or hardware, already gone, pretty much only have the rubber bump stops for closing, latch, license plate light covers, crossfire lettering and emblem. Pretty sure that it but ill check when I get home in a few hours to see whats still attached.
Re: Srt6 Base Plate
SMC Repair or Problem Plastis Adhesive used with the fabric mesh is the best way to repair that base plate. V-groove out the cracks or if there is a crack that just ends drill a small hole into the end of it to keep it from spreading. It's a real easy repair. Finish with a two-part putty to fill any low spots, small scratches or pin holes.
