Default Cowl Removal Problem

OK. My Passenger cowl drain is clogged. I've removed the wipers and removed the screws holding the cowl grill in place. However, I can't lift the cowl grill up high enough to see the washer tube and other connections. How do I unhook all that stuff?

Did you cut the two plastic zip ties?

I didn't see any plastic zip ties but I got the thing off. I cleaned the drains but now, I can't get the center cowl drain back on. The rubber hose is too stiff or long to allow me to push the bottom of the drain in place. The top of the drain also gets pinched out of shape by the wiper motor. What am I doing wrong?

Here are several videos that may help, you might want to disconnect the alarm while you're in there most of them fail dragging down the car battery

go to youtube and type in crossfire cowl removal, It won't let me post the link on the forums

I used this video to do the job. It's a great video! I've already removed the alarm. However, he doesn't show how to put the center drain pipe back in. The hose is bent in an S (kind of). When I get the hose in, no matter which way I turn the funnel, I can't get the botton to seat in the hole. Instructions say to turn it clockwise to insert it but to do that pinches the funnel and in fact, mine cracked. I've just ordered a new one Mercedes-Benz Drain Pipe - (170-830-01-25). I still can't get the *#*#*#* in!

I never removed the tubes. I just vacuumed the debris and ran a 1/4 " flexible tube through to be sure it was clear.

Have you tried some dish soap mixed with water to make it slippery?
