Side Mirror
Here is a great video that shows you how and includes what size torx you'll need. It also shows where all of the clips and wires are.
The screws to tighten the mirror are on the outside so if they just need to be tightened then you do not need to remove the mirror.
I have replaced door mirror base gaskets on two of my cars and I don’t remember removing the trim panels. I recall just twisting the mirror on the base to access the mounting screws and pulling the harness out of the hole to unplug it. It has been a couple years but that’s what I recall. If someone knows differently I apologize.

I wasn't sure his problem was with the whole mirror or the 'swivel' joint where it turns. ("My pax door mirror outer shell is lose"). If it is he wanted to know how to replace it.
