Default Gas Pumps

Does anyone know why when you prepay for your gas that the pump stops anywhere from are 25-30 cents up to 50 cents short, and then goes really really slow? It seems to me that they could slow it down for maybe the last 4-5 cents and that should be plenty. The other day I stopped for $20 worth and I felt it slow at $19.50. It took almost as long for that last half dollar as it did for the first $19.50 worth. It's just wrong.

Don't have a good answer for you, but I will wholeheartedly agree, it is annoying. I guess they just want you to stand there and stare at the $2.59 price that much longer.

It's computerized so I guess they have a certain slowing point, but I don't prepay anymore for gas (takes too long) for that reason. They don't want you getting any more gas than what you pay for cause sometimes you can get a few more drops within a cent and it won't go up (it's not that much to make a difference).

I hate slow pumps in general and I avoid them at all costs.

That usually happens to me too, but last night i went somewhere different, and had the latch hooked so it would pump automatically. Then i was walking around my car, and it just pumped and stopped at $28.00 on its own quickly.
