What's goin on with the rust?
 

Has anyone noticed that every nut and bolt is predisposed to rust? I take a photo of the battery and what do I see. Rust.

Photo of the grill. Rust. Is this a German terrorist revenge for having to build Crossfires? My 30 year Mercedes was rust free when I finally gave it a new home. (76 280c Euro) Never in my long life have I seen this on any car. Not even my Dad's 32 MG. What is the best treatment for this cancer? Do I need to join nuts and bolts anonymous?

Media blast it, and have it gold plated. should last a while;)

take the bolts off and either soak them in WD-40 or motor oil and reapply.

In the end I will do whatever needs doing. Which means replacing them with higher quality attaching hardware. But truthfully, its only on the nuts and bolts but you know how rust leaches to surrounding metals. I wonder if they had a new or faulty supplier during the production run.

I enjoyed the gold plating idea. Slept on in all night. Nice visual.

replace with 18-8 ph stainless
