BZ's Chino's Planes of Fame
The Planes of Fame Air Show in Chino, CA - WWII vintage warbirds.
Many different types of fighters and bombers were flying for the show including: P-51s, P-40s, P-38s, F4Us, Zeros, Val, Spitfire, Hellcat, Wildcat, Firefly, Bearcat, Fury, B-25s, and a B-17. Photos were shot with a Nikon D200 and D50 w/ a 70-300mm VR lens, and 18-55mm lens. Prop planes shot in shutter priority exposure mode (mostly between 1/160 and 1/320sec), with continuous autofocus. The jet shots were around 1/1000sec. This is a terrific slideshow of brilliant clarity photos..........enjoy http://home.comcast.net/~bzee1b/Chino/Chino.html thanks to Route 66 |

Nice post. It brought back memories of my one and only trip to Oshkosh in '76. The Sea Fury at oshkosh had a 5 bladed prop and made a terrific howl in a 400mph+ fly by.

Re: BZ's Chino's Planes of Fame
Sure got some excellent pictures. Beautiful job capturing prop blur. And I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one to get a tilted horizon.
The comments on the Corsairs reminded me of a TV reviewers comments about the Black Sheep TV show. He wrote that the show was enjoyable even though a Corsair would take off with a three bladed prop and land with a four bladed one. I don't know why but somehow the German halftracks remind me of Cadillacs..... |

Great pictures, just had to look at each one! Couldn't help but think about the awsome job thoes great war birds and their crews did and what a debt we all owe. Thanks for the post.
