Wanna see a great movie?
I seldom go to the movies, I prefer to rent. But once in awile a movie catches my attention. I have not been to the theatre since Nov 07 to see No County For Old Men, a multi Oscar winning movie. So for my next great recommendation it is Gran Torino, Clint Eastwoods new movie. Go see it, it may not be exactly what you'd expect.

Grand Turino was great
No County For Old Men was over hyped. it was good but far from great.

Where in the world did you get one so early?
I watched Gran Torino at home last night, and thought it was pretty good. Vintage Eastwood.
However, last night I also watched Slumdog Millionaire and The Wrestler. In my opinion both were better (depending on what movie genre you like). Slumdog Millionaire has a lot going for it: action, drama, comedy. Also, it is done in a 'breaking the mold' way. There isn't much cookie cutter about it. Very well done. I would highly suggest moving it to the top of your Netflix queue for when it comes out or going to see it in the movie ASAP.

Jeezuz.
I think what blew me away was, as easily as you could relate to every other character in the movie & their actions, it was impossible to relate to someone as completely amoral as Chigurh.
No doubt No Country for Old Men was awesome. You may have to see it twice to fully understand it. I know I did. It all makes sense now.
Gran Torino is ok but it's really not all that rememberable. I would not consider it one of his best.
I think The Wrestler with Micky Rourke is a much more unique film with a lot of heart and great acting.
