Default Meet Newton. He is a dog.

Just picked him up an hour ago. He's calm, quiet, and playful. Not high strung and reasonably agreeable (for a beagle) when being walked. He's taken a liking to the fence behind the music store next door as a place to relieve himself.

He's a year old, and the previous owners are letting him go because their boxer gets jealous (as I observed).

Can't wait to wrap him in bacon and put him over the grill!

Just kidding.

Its only been a couple hours, but he is transitioning very well. I followed him around the house up and down the stairs as he sniffed everything in sight. The last owners gave me his familiar toys and his old bed, which seem to help.

He was a bit confused at first when I opened the gate, like "Who are you and where are we going?". It took a light tug to get him to come along, but he quickly obliged. He hopped into the back of the Buick and had a really pleasant ride home. No barking, no whimpering, just tons of curiosity. He's walked around the neighborhood twice now and there's much to smell!

This little guy is going to get spoiled.

He also skipped over his bed and decided to sleep in mine. He's going to hate life when I start snoring.

Cute dog! I rescued a Beagle from one of the local animal shelters about 2 years ago. They sniff everything.....it's in their blood. Google Beagles on a rabbit hunt, or somethig like that, and there is an audio clip you can play and your Beagle will go into hunting mode. They make a differnt sorta sound, not a barking sound, but a weird sound when they are in the "hunt'. Kinda like a yelp/bark. Trippy!

I live next to a golf course and get lots of squirrls in the back yard, and every morning when she goes outside, she sniffs out the path that the squirrls took during the night before, and then she starts making that yelping sound. Every morning for like 5 minutes, then shes done.
