Pizza's Absence

Ok, I guess it is reasonable I'm getting questioned about why I have not been taking care of spammers and such lately.

Effective November 1, 2019, I resigned as Field Application Engineer for JVCKenwood after eight years. I resigned in such a way, that they did not offer anything to stay - because I could not stay.
After the move to Dallas, Texas in 2018, I developed vision issues, high blood pressure, increased weight and yet, even other issues. After seeing doctors for several months, it became clear that I was fundamentally in denial that I was miserable in the big (BIG) city.

I took a job with a Motorola dealer in Lowell, Arkansas and started on November 5 as a senior field technician. Career-wise, this was a step down, as to health and personal life -this was a HUGE step up.
Oddly, I moved to an area of about 12-15% lower cost of living, but picked up more than 10% in pay.

Given that I now live an hour from the Eureka SPrings event (as wells as an hour from "TwoFast" and the hosts of our dinner/music at the Buck Mountian Airport each year), I am living the life!

FOr the month of November, I lived with Bob and Patti at the airport where we hold the above-mentioned dinner each June. Over Thanksgiving, I moved all my stuff from Texas into a rental houme in Bella Vista, Arkansas. I know live in the hills and beauty of NorthWestern Arkansas and drive by cattle grazing on the way to work.

I am also back to three cars: THe Range, the Crossfire and a 4WD company truck that comes home with me - no more commuting costs! The area, job, boss, co-workers, company, house - everything, is great. I sleep well now, and have lost around 6 pounds without even trying.

Attahced are photos of the house and John Two-Hawks' Christmas concert from last night, held in the Eureka SPrings city auditorium. If you think Eureka SPrings is pretty in June, try walking thru town in the dark, at Christmas!

One light is red, one is green, but the camera can't see that:

View out the back (compare that to my view in Dallas and my lower blood pressure is easily understood):

Elementary my dear Watson.

Pizzaman, you hinted at the move but never confirmed my question.
The best job in the world is not worth killing your self for but by bit.

Heck, cut out the hotel and we will all crash at his place. Maybe more will come to the GTG. 😜

Yea, things got hectic for a bit there. Also, internet was sometimes an issue at Bob and Patti's. I planned to be on here more, but the commute was LONG and their internet is limited.

I'm almost back to 'me' now. :)

;) Mark, glad you found your 'niche' again, and life is going your way. There is a time when we make decisions for both our health, and our mental fitness. Seems you have transformed into one of those phases. Your over the hump, settling in, and things are looking rosey (definition 2: characterized by or tending to promote optimism). Wishing you well and good health. Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Years! One more thing, really, must you 'get back' to you again? LOL ;)

Well hell Mark. I left you had two career changes. Life is too short. I gave notice that this will be my last year. 2021 is retirement time. Getting too old for this crap. Time to enjoy shooting again, and get the cars out. But, Florida is in my future. This cold weather is getting old. Glad you are happy and take care of your health. Health issues tried to get me. I’m fighting back..lol. You do the same.

Congratulations Mark!

I work out of Conway Arkansas, I have spent almost 43 years traveling to Conway and its a hot area to live in now.
Happy for your health.....

Many of the members that go to the Dragon wondered why I would only stay for a day or two, its my job that has taken me away from life and I hope to join the healthy one day.

Enjoy
