Default Suggested Tool List

Hello All, I have a 2005 Roadster Limited and other than the local Chrysler dealer, ,there are no independent shops close for service. I am not a stranger to wrenching, I have a good amount of SAE and some Metric tools, a Scan Meter, and a test meter ... I have no hesitation diving into most any repair ... I have rebuilt and serviced my Harley's since 1965.

My question ... what is the suggested list of tools needed to maintain and service a Crossfire? Thank you for your suggestions ...

You will need both male and female torx sockets and bits at least 1/4" & 3/8" drive . This is an example

If you mess with the Xfire enough you'll encounter a few screws that are in spots too tight for "normal" tools to reach. I'd previously bought this Lisle Tools 26000 set (picture included) for tamper-proof Torx, but they work on regular Torx too. The 'bit' design means they fit into my 1/4"-drive pass-thru ratchet. Using them together saved my *** when I encountered some otherwise inaccessible T30 screws. However if I weren't such a low-life tight-wad I'd buy this set:

And if I were TRULY WELL-HEELED I'd pull the trigger on this one (yummy!):

Alternatively you can search '1/4" drive low profile ratchet Torx'. This set has every Torx bit from T8 to T40 and is SUPER-LOW-PROFILE!!

If you DON'T NEED a ratchet this seems like a particularly good price for both tight-quarters bits and long ones too:

I bought a set of 4" & 6" long Torx bits that I used for removing the steering wheel.

More important I think is a good set of combination wrenches, 8 to 22 mm and a similar sized 1/2”socket set. Torque wrenches are useful as well.
A decent selection of hammers of varying weights is always helpfulI I find. Do not forget an assorted box of Band Aids while you are at it.🙄

I have the combination and box wrenches, hammers, brass, rubber, ball pean, and heavy hammers up to a 4 lb hand sledge ... 3 different torque wrenches ... ring compressors, harmonic pullers, valve spring tool, snap ring pliers ,,, and about 3 different impact wrenches 3/8 & 1/2 ... socket/ratchet drives in 1/4 - 3/8 - 1/2 ... have my scan tool and some soldering guns/pens ... I've been wrenching my Harley's since 1965, rebuilt a few bikes and have rebuilt a couple different v8's, plus a couple 4 bangers

with the Crossfire I was missing the external torx sockets ... the rest of the torx in the package I see as a bonus to the torx and hex bits I already have ... best tool in my opinion is a FSM (Factory Service Manual)

.

How large is both your garage and wallet? What you don't have (networking) can save you plenty! A case of beer (or whatever) makes for a much better tool cabinet, than all those tools (sometimes)...
