Interior lighting help, please...I don't have a

manual at hand...how do I get the interior light to come on when I open the doors? Have had the auto for a few weeks but only drove it after dark, last night and noticed no light came on when I opened the door.

Thank you...I do appreciate the help..

I've downloaded the manual from Chrysler, but it's on disc and I don't have it with me. I'm going to buy a manual off of ebay.

Just flip your light switch to the far right.

I have a different problem my interior lights do not function as designed. When I move the over head switch in my 04 coupe to the far right positioin it stays on all of the time. When all of the doors are closed it stays on. I think the problem is in the rear hatch but I don't see any visible sign of a switch in the hatch area. Does anyone know if there is a switch in the rear door hatch that turns on the interior lights when it is opened.

~ the switch/pin should be built into the latch mechanism.

Re: Interior lighting help, please...I don't have a

I am happy to report that I have solved the problem. First I signed up for an on-line shop manual that cost me $26.00 per year. I recommend it. But the solution took most of my Saturday (finished about 10PM) Anyway the problem turned out to be the switch in the lift gate latch. There is a DPST micro switch mounted to the latch mechanism. However it requires that the trim, latch and handle be removed from the lift gate, that's where the shop manual came in handy. The problem turned out to be that the switch wasn't making contact with the latch when the lift gate was closed. I isolated the cause (switch contact) by setting the alarm then opening the rear hatch. Nothing happened when I opened it. After examining the switch and latch mechanism I discovered that the switch would never make contact with the latch in it's current position. I removed the switch from the latch mechanism and in doing so broke the mounting pins off of the switch. I thought OH sh*t now I've done it. But it all worked out. In order to repositon the switch I had to modify the mounting bracket that the switch snaps into. I drilled a very small hole in one corner of the bracket and changed the angle of the switch so it actuates the switch when the latch is in the closed position. The switch must have had something missing because it would have never worked the way it was. Now at night I can open my doors or the hatch and my interior lights work. Yea! :D

I have been waiting for my latch to come in via warranty repair from my local Chrysler dealer. It has been a couple months now-and this has got to be one of the most annoying problems and the alarm chirp second. Not having lights come on as your getting into a pitch black car--the worst!

Is there any way to close the circuit so no matter if the hatch is open or closed, it is sensed closed??

Also can anyone confirm that has an alarm chirp that when they leave their hatch open and use the keyless entry to lock their car, does the alarm still chirp? because that could be two birds with one stone!!

Off topic but I love the gold!!

I wish they offered the SRT in gold, even a very few would've been a good idea.

I have the alarm chirp thru the (second generation) factory alarm and if you set the alarm with any doors, rear hatch or hood open it will only chirp 2 times instead of 3 to let you know that a door is not closed 100%.

So much for two birds with one stone. For those who fixed it themselves, can the two wires (assuming) that go to the micro switch be attached to act as a closed switch?

Finally got the latch replaced through the dealer under warranty. And although it oddly fixed my non working alarm, my lights still don't turn off in door mode! So next time I bring it in they are gonna pull the lamp assy. and check grounds. They cracked the panel clip by my seat belt when replacin the latch so when they get that in they have better figure out the lights problem. This will be the third time in the shop for the same problem, amongst others.
