Success with a new pad from heat my seats.
Jeff Nevermind. I was going to try this myself, but found a local shop to do an aftermarket repair for $250, will post results. After reading all the posts related to the heated seat failures and repair failures, I'm going to go with an aftermarket CF heated seat kit. Obviously there is a design flaw in the current heated seats. Surprised there isn't a recall at this point. The other xf we went to look at before we got FP's also had the driver seat not working. Would love to see a poll of how many here had failures. |

Jeff;
$250 sounds good, the heat my seats pad worked great and have extra pad from the kit if I need one in the future. Randy |
Re: Heated Seat Aftermarket Repair
Randy any chance of giving me the make, model., part no and supplier of your aftermarket heated seat kit. I'm in adelaide south australia and my local dealer wants aroung $600 to supply and fit. It will also be 6 weeks. This will be my 3rd replacement . I need a website/email or some way of ordering.
Thanks, Deane |

Did you power the new pads with wire feed from existing dash switches or did you install new switch and tap into 12V feed elsewhere? |

Thanks Randy
Which pads did you buy from Heatmyseats? Are they in Canada or did you have import fees? robertweckman@rogers.com |
Re: Heated Seat Aftermarket Repair
Randyg did you order the H3 seat heater recommended by heat my seats? i was wondering about the carbon one if those might be a little harder than the H3... also about how many hours labor do you suppose it took to do one seat? i will be having my car fix it man do this task and am wondering about how much this will cost me.

Re: Heated Seat Aftermarket Repair
Spensley... I need to get my seats heating again as winter is heading our way. I assume your seats are still working well and was wondering if you could supply the vendor/item #? you had to cut off the after market knob/wire assembly and wire directly to the current xfire knob wiring and lay the heating pads between the leather and cushion?
Thanks in advance for your help with this... |
