Default Purchased last security cover available!?

As you know, the security cargo cover, part # 82208889 is no longer available. It is also not available in Canada. So I sent out emails to six Chrysler Dealerships in the UK (England) asking for the part. I also sent an email to a dealership in Australia. All emails went out at the same time. Within minutes, I received a reply from a Chrysler Dealership in London England. His computer is telling him their is one last available in the UK and he has already ordered it for me. I phoned him immediately and we agreed on a payment method and shipping instructions. From what he told me, I purchased the very last one in the UK!

The security cover arrived today from London, England. I'm surprised at the substantial weight and heavy duty hardware. This is a serious cover that appears to be quality made. Installation instructions are provided however if anyone has ever installed one of these things in a coupe and has some advice to share, it would be appreciated. TIA

Glad you got one, it is really sturdily built. I fitted my one with no problems. Just be careful that the measurements you make are correct as we would not want the misplaced holes visible later. As you can see the holes to screw the adapters in are already behind the carpeting on the rear of the bulkhead. I cut the carpet with a hole saw in a portable hand drill, the hole is a little oversize but just a little, cutting it by hand seemed like a little too much work.
Locate these holes as the instructions show and to prove you are in the correct spot push a sharp scriber through the center point you have located. Keeping the scriber at the same depth move it left to right and up and down, if you are in the center the scriber will touch the sides of the hole and travel the same amount in each direction. I found that I was out a little this way and corrected my center and hit it dead right.
When you screw in the adapter plugs make sure they go in all the way, they are hard at first then go real easy and you think you have stripped the thread.
The latch holes are easy to do, just do them as shown and the trickiest part is find the hole in the bracket to screw into, just put the screw through the hole, rotate the bracket until it hits the screw, pull the screw back and rotate the bracket with the screw rubbing on it, you should find the screw jump as it falls partly into the threaded hole.
I will attach a photo that shows the holes you are trying to locate on the bulkhead.

I too picked mine up in England a couple of months ago. I found the bulkhead mounting holes not too difficult to locate and used a 1" forstner bit to make a perfectly round hole. I did have one heck of a time properly locating the support bracket holes for the latches! I took a very cautious approach, didn't want to make a mess of any trim panels, "measured twice and cut/drilled once". Good luck!

Default Installation complete

Today I insalled the security cover. All went well with no mistakes. The instructions could be better but get the message across. Thanks to those who responded and provided photographs. It all helped. The cover leaves a 2 inch gap where it meets the edge of the hatch opening. This space is needed to grab the end when latching or releasing, but I would have preferred a tighter fit with a grab handle of some kind.

This was the last cover purchased from the UK!
