How do you remove the headliner? (urgent)

I got everything apart but I can't get the foam headliner board out of the car. I've whirled it around every which way and I still don't see how to get it out. I have the seats all the way forward and reclined to the limit and am trying to fit it out the passenger side door. Any FAST suggestions are needed. I'll be searching the manual again, it just says "remove headliner" and your supposed to know by divine inspiration.

~ the headliner must come out through the rear hatch...

If it won't come out through the hatch, a sawzall will do the trick. :D

To get it out the hatch it looks like you have to bend it into a U. Is that correct?

Ole Doc, the headliner fell, too much time spent over 100 mph with the windows open. I glued it back but the next track day it came loose. I have another track day on Sunday and decided to take the whole kit and kabodle out until I decide what I want to cover it with.

I'll give the rear hatch a try.

Well... the hatch was an evil joke Andrew ..... I won't forget:rolleyes: I went back down to the car and my neighbor had left so I had lots of finagling room. It comes out the passenger door just like I thought. I didn't come easy, but it's out and tucked away in a closet.
You know Doc, thats 10 lbs. less at roof level .....

I've never had to attempt this task. But I gotta imagine that getting the old liner out is a lot easier than getting a new one in.

Maybe I'll just leave it out funny guys. With a helper it looks easy, alone it'll be a bear. The pillars came out easy enough, the lights and sun visors, easy, the rear trim and push pins that hold the sucker, no prob. I see what game we're playning .... tease the Puerto Rican!!! Rednecks! J/K Doc, let me know when those bad boy friends have and ETA. I'll be racing but I'll clear some happy hour time.

Today was spent cleaning the interior of the car. That gluey foam stuff is messy. I decided to put the visors, mirror, pillars and rear trim back on so I don't loose any parts or screws. I see what your saying about the rear trim. :( I like the extra head room though  I had the front tires flipped on the rims today. I have a bent front rim  on the inside. I had been feeling it for a while but was thought the balance was off. Oh well, it's not bad and can be fixed. I'll be racing tomorrow and I'll report back on the lower center of gravity mod (headliner removal). I'm expecting a new personal best!;)

I have my headliner removed as we speak and I didn't need to remove the sail panel trim. I just lowered it down on the front edge enough to remove the headliner retainers and then popped it back in place.

A couple of pictures for the curious. I plan to take the other visor with me to the fabric store. I'm color blind so I need to have the colors with me.
