Cheesy Door Handles!
The faux stainless steel interior door handles on my '04 are self-destructing. Don't think a stock replacement would do much but have the same result in a couple of years. Anyone else experienced this? Are stock replacements worth a try? Other solutions?
The silver sticker (or whatever you want to call it) on my driver's side handle is peeling and I actually cut my finger on it. I'd be interested in an alternative too.

MINE ALSO!!!!!!!!!

Redneck solution below:
Carefully take a rasp (fine tooth) and gently file the sharp edge down. You may even need a razor knife to knock down the high points.
After I made it smooth, I cut a thin strip of clear plastic tape and sealed the back edge so it can't continue to peel.
It's subtle enough that my wife couldn't feel it on her handle... So, that works for me. The driver's side is still smooth.

Since I just bought a carbon-fiber hood, I think I will pull the handles off and wrap them with some carbon-fiber tape.
H*ll, I'd like to cover as much as the interior as I can get away with...lol
Just have to get things to match up!!!

I had one that was rough and I sanded it down with emery paper, smooth as a baby's bum now.
I cut 2 fingers yesterday on the inside of the interior door pulls.
My right hand, I use it to help stand up when getting out of the car.
Very sharp seam in the inside...I have to address this.

wouldn't it be possible to get stainless steel tubing made to fit? Ok it won't have any grove/ridges etc but from an exhaust place should be (quite) cheap and a piece of cake for them to bend into the correct shape?

Maybe you could screw it on from the front and hold the door panel as well. If the screw head went through the first tube wall and tightened against the second tube wall and a plug filled the first hole it may look so so but may be acceptable to some like that. A spacer over the screw behind the tube would be best to mimic the OEM set up and prevent over tightening.
Personally I'd sand and maybe cover the rough spots. My passenger side is just sanded smooth.
