Default need a more comfortable seat

I need some help in finding a better seat. I am 6'2" and already have to scoot forward to have head room. The other problem is the width at the rib area. It is really narrow and I feel like my kidneys have been punched after a long ride.

I did a search but only found a handful of threads of racing seat installs but wasn't convinced that these would solve my issues. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...d-finally.html, https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ing-seats.html, https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...-air-bags.html

I need an aftermarket seat that is wider at the ribs, better lumbar support, and decrease deck height/build height.

I know I can do a lowering seat modification as others have done to gain up to 1" head room but this would only solve one of my issues. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...-headroom.html,

Any ideas or recomendations would be appreciated.

If I had the rib issue, I would take the seat back apart and mod it. IMO, it's easier to mod the seat you have than trying to fit and adapt a who new assy. The side supports could be bent out(heat) or trimmed. These wings are usually made of plastic. Did you do the knee bolster mod?

I'm in the same boat, especially the lumbar support. These seats are as flat as a board, and a wide chest makes it a tad snug, lol.

Well, I'm just a fat 'effer (at least I'll admit it!), tall, and I hate these seats too. Flat seat w/little padding, no lumbar and the back (upright) is not shaped for a large human, if any human at all.

Funny, I don't have any issue with head room. Nice thing about roadsters.

Probably designed by committee. Of small aliens.

I have nothing to offer, but I will watch this thread, hoping!

I have issues with the seats, too, Namely that the back doesn't breathe, at all and you end up with a sweaty back in the summer as there is no air flow. The seat creates a hot pocket. Maybe try to locate some SLK 320 seats, which look like they have the exact same carriage as the Crossfire. Maybe you can find some SL seats which are bound to be even MORE comfortable. I'd have to get the reupholstered to match the cedar interior of my xfire

the be honest the C160/C180 Merc coupes look to have virtually idential seats (with the exception of the tilt mechanism so that could be an avenue to try
