Who's replaced their shift boot and knob? (6-speed)
My shift boot has seen better days and I need a replacement. I looked into shiftstyle.com but read quite a few negative reviews about them, so they're out. Would a universal shift boot work in our cars? And what type of knob would work best as well since ours don't screw on?
I'm looking at these: Sparco USA Sparco USA |

I would think you could get the OEM boot from "THE CROSSFIRE SHOP", as to knob not many have the shift pattern engraved if you want that, but there are many that just lock down with a set screw.

I don't need a knob with the gate numbers on it (if I don't know which gear is where by now then something is wrong, lol). I'll check into the shop.

I replaced my shift knob back in late 07 & it is still as solid & good looking as the day I put it on. Log onto performanceproducts.com & enter shift knobs in the search. My car is your same color. I chose 26-052 Mercedes prestige shift knob. Take your time with the installation & it will give you a very solid shift feel. It installs with a bit more than just using any set screw. It's a very professional application.

Jason, check with member John Book. He went with the shift gate that a German company is selling and really likes the look.

Here's a link to what I found out about how the manual shift knob is attached and operates with the pull up for reverse, and how I made my own wood knob for the interior mods theme...Chrysler Crossfire Custom Shift Knob Photos by Smfrycruzr | Photobucket
PS- some of the photos are out of sequence... |
