Default Dash trim kits

Has anyone used the dash wood trim kits made by rvinyl or the Ramen (sp.) kits. The Ramen is sold by "CARiD" and I think the rvinyl is sold direct by them. There is quite a difference in the pricing of these two. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with either on, good or bad, I'd like to hear it! I don't work for these folks, just want to buy a good product and not junk. I believe there are other dash kits out there, and again, if you have any information on what to buy and what not to buy, I'd love to hear from you. My email is jpmlholian@aol.com if you prefer not to voice your opinion on this site.

Thanks for your input,

Jim

Hi Jim, I'm not familiar with the two company's dash kit products you mentioned. After years of wavering on what to do with the "river of silver", I recently pulled the trigger at DashKitMall.com and bought two sets of their real black carbon fiber Crossfire kits (one for each of my roadsters). I was skeptical about the looks / quality of a stick on dash kit but was very pleasantly surprised. Great fit and quality. All the carbon fiber pattern lines up on their adjacent pieces. VERY HAPPY. Note: The kit includes more pieces to do the dash and glove box area but I chose to only install the pieces on the "river of silver" center console and center stack.

Looks GREAT! Just curious, where did you get the padded console cover/armrest? Is it generic or fitted specifically for the Crossfire?

Check this link for one I bought about 4 years ago on eBay. sorry, purchase history wont let me go back that far. I installdo like it. It was easy to install and maintain. I think I paid about 150 for the kit.

Thanks, Guy's for the photo's. That padded console cover looks great. That would be one good addition to our cars. Has to be much more comfortable.

A recommendation on installing dash kits. Remove the plastic dash parts and paint them a matching color first, then install the kit. I used the $50 kit from Rvinyl and think it looks as good as any, and better than most. This is the 3rd kit I have used and it's far superior in looks and ease of use to the $200 + kits on the market, many of which look plasticy and thick. Check the pic in my album.

Interesting. It looks like marble. Do you remember where you got it and what it's called? Thanks, Matt
