Red Plastic Button On FOB's?

.

:) Does anyone know of a source for the red panic button on the FOB's? One of mine has crumbled, so the panic alarm is useless. It easily pops off but I haven't seen any replacements offered on any websites & I have no idea if the FOB cases that are all over the place (with panic button option) would have the panic button simply pop off and pop onto my FOB. The rear shaft extension would have to line up with the internals (switch), and the perimeter has to 'clip' into the groove on the face of the FOB. Thanks for any insight or sources for these self-destructing parts.. :)

Years ago, I bought a cheap replacement case from ebay and robbed the red rubber panic button from it for my OEM case. Works a charm.

:) Sounds like a plan! Was the button a perfect fit (given the case has a valley around the perimeter, and the button has a ridge that would snap into it)? Does anyone know if the blank cases are all designed the same design? Thanks bluecoupe! :)

The case I bought was from China maybe 7 or 8 years ago. I think I paid $10 US for 2 shipped. Many of the forum members at that time bought them. The panic button was identical to OEM except the raised "Panic" letters were not outlined in white.

Yes,

The buttons off those replacement fobs are exactly the same. Just pop them off and fit them on your original fob. Here's one of mine that I've changed recently.

:) Thanks CL770 and bluecoupe! Am going to buy a set and get them red buttons off them to replace the one that is all but gone (the one has only the ring of red left). I'll use the one then save the second one for when it is needed (probably 'file' it away and forget where I put it LOL). Been wanting to do this for a while but never was sure the buttons were the same design. Great to know that! :)

:) After a few minutes of searching various search engines and websites, I bought Ebay item# 351279748787. Two 3 button (lock/unlock + panic) FOB cases for $14.53 (13.45 + 1.08 tax), with free shipping. This will take care of the rotted out one, plus I'll have a spare. I also might swap out the button pad, if it is also a direct fit... :)
