mice love my insulating blanket
WantedMiscellaneous
I have three Crossfires, one of the SRTs does not have the insulation. The original owner was tired of trying to keep it from rubbing the engine cover so he removed it. It looks cleaner without it and I have found no negative effects from it not being installed. The car is black , I thought the extra heat on the hood may affect the paint but have not seen any problems.
Very good to know. I have seen from pictures that mine is torn on the rear right side. If I can't repair it and can't find a replacement, I may just take it off. Appreciate you relating your experience.
I have no ties to this company but I know others in this group have used them. https://www.hoodliners.net/
I took mine off and stored it, it just keeps more heat in the engine, dont care about the noise, run wide open for a reason, sound does not keep up, enjoy Woody
Sitting behind the engines in a plane is noisier than sitting in front of the engines.
At the same time there was a guy on ebay selling hood liners with Crossfire embossed on them. I remember reading someone saying he passed away. I have not seen any alternate options since.
Hi, I've actually trimmed mine back from the mouse damage but even worse I found they used it to build a nest in my cabin heater box. They chewed through the fan wires as well. I hate mice !😁
We have placed LED lights on the floor around the car, and this has kept the mice away from it. I got this tip from a friend that lives in AZ, and they have pack-rats, she has them around all of their vehicles. I purchased either a 25 or 40 foot led rope light from Lowes.

Original owner of my car took the insulation off for some reason and said mice ate it so he never bothered to find another one. Seems to be fine, no issues noted. However you can tell on the air box where it rubbed off the silver paint from the insulation when it was there.
I would say about half the vehicles I've owned didn't have any hood insulation, never seen it as a problem.
