Hello. I'm a new member from Toronto , Canada. I have a white 2004 that I've owned for 2 years. Unfortunately it sits in

my garage beside my white Volvo 1800 that I've owned for 54 years. They both look great sitting there but don't get used much.

I've just had a 50amp fuse replaced & a new battery installed in the Crossfire but I'm told the car needs a steering angle sensor.

I'm also told that it is a discontinued part from Chrysler.

I guess my question is can the part be obtained and can anyone recommend a good Crossfire mechanic in the Toronto area.

Looking for some help to get into my locked 2004 Crossfire. The key fobs will not unlock the doors. The trunk is locked. The key will not unlock the drivers side door because it doesn't go all the way in. I tried lubricating the key hole on the door but the key doesn't go all the way in the key hole on the door. I think the battery is dead (but this is only a guess). I've read a few posts online but some suggest going through the trunk (manually opening the trunk with the licence plate light removed).
What are your thoughts on getting into the car and opening the hood to check out the battery?

Selling our Crossfire as a project or parts car. It’s a clean, straight example with a lot of valuable components, but it currently does not start due to the common SKREEM immobilizer failure. If you’re a Crossfire or R170 SLK person, you already know this is a fixable issue or a great donor.

This was my wife’s daily driver before the SKREEM failure. Clean title. We are moving abroad, so bring a trailer. $2,500 or best offer. Located an hour east of Austin, TX.

Ok so the title of this will immediately make you think it is a RCM or a SKREEM issue. I did too, but here is the story
2005 Convertible Crossfire
- Battery light came on for a few days, stupidly I ignored it as my car seems to have many idiot lights come on randomly then go out so I waited to see if it would go out..... it did, along with all ability to start the car
- had my car towed back to my house. I replaced the battery with a brand new one (old one was completely dead but under warranty)
- contacted DJ Tighe and him and I ran through some tests listed below
- RCM tested and seems ok, both relays close with key in ignition - DJ approved
- we then test the Power Module ( I think ) and we were able to determine that there was power getting to the starter when it was by-pass from the wire (applied 12v directly to the connection)
- we also tested that there was 12V getting to the wire but when connected the starter wont engage
- When I manually closed the relay when applying power the starter did engage but the car would not start.

As it sits I am able to engage the key but the car does not turnover or crank at all. in order to keep trying to turnover I need to turn key to off position then try again still nothing happens, I am not able to turn key and have it simply go to the ON position and try to crank again, the key won't move. I spoke briefly with the MSS team and they had me look inside my trunk for any moisture which I could not see. One reason was that the car at one point seemed to be having an alarm issue. Which is odd as I disconnected the alarm last year but the thought was that it might be alarm related and the car was locked out of starting for some reason. I am pretty sure I unplugged the siren module last year as I totally removed the siren (is there a plug in that I may have missed ?)

I am at a total loss of what to do next.

I am finally getting to selling my roadster. I have not had the time or funds to care for it or enjoy it so I want it to go somewhere it will be enjoyed.
It has been garage kept and maintained best i can. We have been able to power it up and get most all working, Unfortunately, she is not road ready. will need a new battery and some love to get her up.
I do know it needs a speed sensor, and has some minor scratches on front fender and a tear in the driver seat leather (minor)
I have upgraded the radio, and added a dash / rear cam system. Pictures tell the words,

Hi guys,

It’s summer time in Florida and sometimes my car sits outside if we go travel places. I’d like to have a sunshade for the inside of the wind-shield. What is the best company to utilize and where do you store it afterwards? Would love to have something that fits well, keeps the heat/sun out and also is easy to store. Where do you guys store it in the roadsters?

Happy Memorial weekend everyone!

Nick

I’m sure there is already a thread for this but my search couldn’t find it. Just put my 2005 Roadster back on the road this week after winter storage and was about to DIY change the oil. Checking it first I noticed it was so clean I could barely see the topped up level. This car get driven very minimally every year, only goes through 1 tank of gas before storage again. Do I really need to change it every year? Could I extend it to every 2nd or even 3rd year?
