Sorry to hear of your misfortune, Nightrider. Just when you think your car is safe on your street, a truck damages it. I know I would have been pissed. All part of life I guess.

:( Bob

Re: You know it's going to be a bad day when

I'm all out of parking spaces at my house (18 cars) so my cool neighbor lets me park my SRT in his driveway so it won't be on the street.

How cool is he!?!?!?!

Re: You know it's going to be a bad day when

Fun, yours never leaves the garage. GEICO is giving me all kinds of crap and no help. They tell me to bring it to a body shop, pay the deductible and then they will help me collect the money from the trucking company. If I don't do that then I haven't exhausted all my legal means before going after them. The owner of the truck insurance company is mre helpful than GEICO. They said they'd pay full damages at the body shop of my choice plus rental re-imbursement (no injuries were invloved). By an untrained eye (mine) it looks like it is only left door, windshield support moulding and front fender, maybe the hood. I definitely will let expert appraisers handle that end.

With no structural damage and repairs done at a very good Chyrsler dealer, how bad will this screw me on resale value when someone checks CARFAX?

Nightrider, Sorry to here what happen! I have heard many stories about Geico doing nothing until you pay up first. Try and run it through the trucking company and keep Geico out of it. Best of luck getting it repaired.

Re: You know it's going to be a bad day when

carfax won't know if you let the trucking co take care of it...not everything gets reported that isn't a chargeable accident...if someone bumps you, pays for it, you get it fixed...no accident report by police, no investigation by insurance co...no paper trail....

I''ll post a pic when I get home from work. The only picture I wanted to see last night was a pitcher of Sam Adams, Thanx for all your help and condolences.

Sorry about the mishap...It sounds as if the trucking company is trying to do the right thing. I would get a different insurance company...You pay them for this type of problem and IMHO...they should not question it they should just do what their supposed to do...Pay!!! I hate insurance companies!!!

Re: You know it's going to be a bad day when

GEICO ....

Yup they can offer a pretty good rate for coverage but then when you need it to pay out ya get stroked around and have to jump through hoops to get what you are entitled to.

I personally like State Farm.
I have submitted claims (mostly comp claims) for things over the years and have always used the same body shop (my choice) and the only thing required by me is a signature when the work is done.
And the best part is my rate has not ever increased and I have had them for all my coverages for 15 years now.

I hope it all works out for you without the need for lawyers and all the aggravation.

Gary
