Please help, wife's new Crossfire is now a Nofire.

If you read this earlier on a reply thread, I apologize, I just figured out how to start a thread.
This is what I'm working with:
2005 Chrysler Crossfire Convertible – (6 speed, 6 cyl)
Was working fine, bought it, drove several times, one morning, won’t start.
Cracks, fires, stalls. Did this three times. After three times, it will not crank again until battery is disconnected, then it repeats the problem. With foot on throttle, cranks, revs, stalls, cranks, revs, stalls, then no cranks. Disconnect battery, 3-5 minutes, problem repeats. When it does fire, it fires for 3 seconds.

Checked:
o key fob,
o battery
o RCM,
o changed cranked position sensor.
o No set codes.
o Only thing OBD said was ‘open circuit in fuel pressure regulator’.
o Security light is not on in dash
o no security errors showing in dash
o have fuel pressure
o all fuses in car are good
o everything else (electrc/power) functions properly.
o Car does communicate with OBD II tester I
o Checked all wiring harnesses, including mouse destruction.
o Giggled all connectors
o unplugged mass flow sensor
o checked cam sensor, SLIGHTLY changed how it fired.
My wife has pretty much been upset since this started over a month ago. We are at a loss and I am a good mechanic but I'm dumb-founded on this car. We did cave and buy the $200 shop manual.
PLEASE HELP. If someone gets me an answer that makes this thing work and therefore making me able to sleep at night because the nagging has stopped, I'll send you a gift card for a steak dinner!

Mark,
Welcome aboard. Sorry to hear about the problems. It could be the Crank Position Sensor. This is a relatively easy and cheap fix.

Check out the following thread:

Did you connect the fuel pressure and verify that at the point it stalls, there is still 55-60 pounds of pressure ?
Did you replace the CPS with a Boshe ?
Did unplugging the MAF/IAT sensor change any symptoms ?
Did you check the connector at the throttle body ?

Yep, did change that, still doesn't work. Didn't even effect it.

I hope I'm doing the reply correctly on this.
I will check all of this tomorrow! Thank you!
BTW, the sensor was NOT a Bosche sensor ...

I guess I wasn't responding correctly. Man I'm horrible at this!
I will check all of your suggestions tomorrow, it's 9:40pm here on the east coast!
BTW, the replacement sensor was NOT a Bosche, I take it it has to be??

I replaced the crank shaft position sensor, nothing happened. However, as I'm learning from another reply to my post, the replacement was not a Bosche. Did set me back a good amount though!

2005 Chrysler Crossfire – technical Chrysler Nofire (6 speed, 6 cyl)

My wife has driven it a total of 6 times, she's to the point of tears right now. Here's what I got:

Imported from the "other" thread.. has this turned out to be anything other than the skreem module? Hey.. do you have a second key???

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...cons/icon1.gif PLEASE HELP...START ISSUE!!!! ECM? RCM? Skreem?

Hi Guys. I have an '05 Limited Conv that won't start unless I put the key in ignition in the ON position and (2nd) key in the drivers side door in the lock position and hold it there for approx thirty seconds and then the ECM? RCM? Skreem? clicks and RESETS( something re security?) Then I turn the ignition switch to the off position( key in door is out) and then to the start position and the car will start. Once in awhile I need to take the battery cables off and then go through the same sequence, and whala, it starts!

No check engine or codes show!
Battery checks!
Key FOB's are working( lock, unlock, start etc)!
Checked fuses!

It's seems to be something that is RESETTING! Dreading having to take it to a dealer!

Skreen module. Go to the search feature and plug in screen module. Read thru those threads and see if you have the Symptoms.

She does have another key, both are giving the same problem. We changed the batteries in both keys as well.

Mine did this a couple times the day i got mine. i had to take it to the dealer and they fixed it for free. it was a problem with one of the sensors in the car... but it was an easy fix for them and i havent had a problem since.. good luck though man! I hope yours is the same problem and nothing more serious!

Usually, the dealers are horrible with these cars (unless you can find a Mercedes dealer that will admit the car is a Mercedes and have his shop work on it).

I believe the SKREEM is the problem, but I will just throw this out there: This is very similar to what my Durango did one time. We had it TOWED and they worked for an hour on it - then some guy said, "Put a new battery in it". We traded batteries between the Durango and my van - it started! Put the original battery back in - no start. (BOTH batteries started the van!)

Older batteries can cause weird stuff in our cars - and some others.
Just saying.... but I still think it's the SKREEM.

Did you find the cause. I'm interested.
