Default looking for car

Ed is looking for a Crossfire Roadster with manual 6 speed transmission. I live just north of Baltimore, MD. When looking at ads on the internet how do I tell if the car has a manual transmission from the VIN number?

I don't think that is possible. I don't recall if a CarFax will show that.

Most reliable way is to simply study pictures of the interior, no W/S switch then it's a 6 speed manual.
If it's an SRT6, then they are ALL automatic.

Sometimes my system at work can determine if a car is auto or standard, by the vin #. If you send me a message I can search it through my database.

If you can find a friendly Chrysler dealer he can search the Chrysler data base and tell you this info, color, in service date, services performed by s Chrysler dealer, recall work done etc.
Finding the friendly dealer may be the sticking point though a service rep could do it as well.

In 2010 I wanted one in Graphite. I live in Georgia, I ended up flying to Sedona, Arizona and drove it home 2200 miles for $10,700. You should not have any issue finding one closer than that, but I wanted Graphite, low miles, six speed and a price I liked.....

I do find it irritating when someone puts a Crossfire up for sale with two photos and no information. I mean, if its a Base, then it's a six speed. If it's a Limited, then the only options are: Nav or no Nav, colors, auto/manual. WHy not just tell us: Year, miles, auto/manual, colors, Nav or not - you are pretty much done describing the car, throw some pictures in and off you go.

And if the seller inputs the data right, AUTOTRADER can be searched based oodles of specs - including transmission.
