NEW to Crossfire
Re: NEW to Crossfire
Welcome! This is indeed a great resource, though sometimes you may have to sift through some trivia. Many nice folks with a lot of experience & knowledge. A couple of common "quirks" (Crank Pos. Sensor & RCM) while disabling, need not be expensive fixes. "Search" will usually lead down the correct path. Best Wishes for many smile miles.

I am retired, sold my 85 Mustang and needed something to play with. My Crossfire is 2005 with 64K miles, needs some touchups, it's blue a coupe. Needs a tail light and to fix the tire monitor, Seems to have bad seals in the master cylinder (spongy low brake peddle but runs great
Re: NEW to Crossfire
Hi Gang! I just picked up a 2005 Roadster Limited with 11,000 miles (Graphite Metallic). I'm the fourth owner - but this thing is nearly perfect. For the first time in a long time -
I've bought a vehicle on the right side of the depreciation curve!
Already addressing a few small things (interior bulbs, mirror control switch) with help from this awesome forum. Just ordered a Clarion head unit to add BT audio streaming this weekend. Keep Calm and Drive On!

Re: NEW to Crossfire forum
Hello fellow xfires,
I first set eyes on her back in 2005. It was sunny warm summer day in Riverside California. She was just sitting there on the showroom floor with her convertible top down, eyeballing me through a crowd of looky-loos. Shinny Black Ice, SRT-6 with zero miles. I had to have her. As soon as I sat in the suede seats I new she was the one for me. We left the dealership together that day, and 86,000 miles later she still growls like a panther and refuses to go anywhere in slow motion. Her name is Ebony and I'm still in love with my little black crossfire!

Re: NEW to Crossfire
Spongy brakes are the norm on these cars, bleed the brakes and if there is any improvement you are done. Been there, done that (myself) learnt a lesson. You are probably wasting your money on a brake cylinder. If the pedal sinks toward the floor you are right but spongy brakes no way. Your trusty German experts will be glad of the money though, they got kids in school as well.

Nicely worded. Welcome! We share your sentiment. Curious about your rear window experience, if any?

Just as a precaution check the front calipers and make sure they freely move on the pins, the rear calipers are fixed and do not free float. I'm not saying you're not right you probably are but it's just something else to eliminate in the process to nail down your diagnosis.
