Hi, I'm in Toronto and am looking to buy a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire Limited

Hi everyone!

Just want to start by saying I'm no gearhead. I'm keen on a daily driver with some serious flair and the Crossfire has always caught my eye. Always. But from what I understand the maintenance can get a bit pricey, especially if I waste time and $$$ on inexperienced mechanics. And from what I've read on the forums, one who specializes in Mercedes is key. If there's a Xfire owner in the Toronto area who has a trusted mechanic, I'd love to get in contact with them. I drive only about 3500 miles per year, just 10 minutes to my job even, so I suspect I can keep the Xfire in good condition for some time. That is, if I'm not buying a Xfire on the brink of falling apart. :(

Anyway, here's a link to the one I've got my eye on. https://bethelauto.ca/cars/used/2005...rossfire-23548

All opinions/advices are welcome.

I hope to spend my time here, that is, if I should even get my hands on this Crossfire.

Thanks everyone.

Hi, when you go look at the car, don't let them rush you. Take your time and make sure everything works;
Heated seats, fog lights, signals, high beams, power seats, radio(make sure that you can change stations, adjust the volume, turn it on and off),
with the key out try to honk the horn (If it's the original Relay Control Module it won't honk until the key is on. If it's a rebuilt one the horn will work with no key).
I can see the headliner is sagging and will need to be re-glued. Also see if the cup holder in the center console closes and stays closed. I haven't seen one picture where it's closed. Check the cigar lighter for power.
Also, have the dealer open the fuse panel located on the driver's side dash (See the picture with the arrow below). Look on the fuse panel door to see if it says "Stickey Key Fix" with a date. If not you might eventually have to do the sticky key fix. Check the car fax report.
It looks like a good car and the mileage is about right for the year.
Best of luck to you!

Here are 2 links to help you out. Don't worry about cupholder in any car you see. Most replace it with a bin.
Take your time. I looked at a lot of junk before I bought mine.
Good luck.

Look for rust under the doors behind the seal, at the bottom of the hatch and in the lips around the wheel arches. If it has been driven in winter this is the first place to rust. At 19 years of age and driven in winter it may be quite rusty in places.
If any dash lights are on forget it as the cause may be hard to find.
At 100,000 miles I think the price is too much. Whatever you get its a gamble, unseen problems lie hidden until you are least expecting it.
I drove to Florida to get my one and imported it to Canada, it was worth it, it’s a garage Queen these days. It has 42,000 miles on it.

There is a thread on here about what to look for on the car.
Edit, I see it has been added while I looked for it.

I am considering selling my 2005 SRT6 Roadster sapphire blue 55000KM winter stored and not driven in the rain. This one is in excellent shape. I am the second owner. will only consider offers greater than $22500. Vehicle is all original no mods or trash done to this vehicle.
