Default Requirement for the Spring Dragon Meet!

You guys know I had a pair of FRS radio at the fall meet. Well now for Christmas I got a more powerful set (up to 25 miles). This way when Gary has to go back and get his camcorder we can keep in contact

Don't forget to bring yours this spring...

Hey James,
Did Santa stop at your place first tonight.
How did you get a gift before Santa arrived ??
I expect Santa will be bring me a new set of 20 mile range motorola radios and I will post if my wishes are answered.

The radios are great for keeping the groups in contact.

no cell signal where we stay and play....it was kind of nice actually...but Gary needs "hands free" mic, 'cause I watched him drive with his knees and that is murder on those turns, let alone Gary's boney knees...

I agree.
Point can play lookout, and the tail can make sure nobody gets left behind.

If we reset our tripmeters using one of the endpoints as a common reference we can all be on the same page.

When you say no cell service, do you really mean NONE or really crappy?? I don't know when I was out of cell range in the last 7-8 years. My co-workers are going to LOVE that!!!

Hey Valk, the only thing we didn't do was synch our trip odometers, that's a good idea. Guy in the rear occasionally has to chase down someone that makes the errant turn, and block the road so that everyone gets on the road together. I have some pretty good video of us doing this. We should use as a trining filf for the fall.

The radios that people need to bring are the ones that go above chanel 14, the higher numbers have beter range, and are much clearer.

I got lots of experience running the video, and the radio while driving, the "co-pilot" just enjoyed the ride, occasionallyholding on for dear life - LOL

Let me see if I got this right. You are running the radio, the camera AND DRIVING!?!

No wonder the co-pilot was hanging on for dear life!
