Default Looking for a good mechanic in North NJ

Hello Boys ! Does anyone have any recommendations? I tried my local Mercedes guy but he was not too interested in working on this car, and I REALLY don't trust my local dealer due to a prior scam that they tried to pull. Local shops are mostly hillbillies which is fine for my truck, but I do not trust these people with my delicate baby!

I am looking for a trustworthy shop in North NJ, Sussex, Warren or Morris county, Passaic county ok if nothing is closer... anyone? Thank you!!

Good Luck! My advice would be to shop around a little at Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep deals, other independent mechanics I've found in Morris Co don't have the tools or scanners to properly work on the car. Also use this forum for jobs you think you can do yourself, most of the time all you'll need is the code when the check engine light goes on. If you don't own a scanner try to find a dealer or mechanic that will scan it and give you the code for free.

Thanks !! I know Dover Dodge.. I will look into that for sure, of course... only for stuff I can't do myself. I tried my local Mercedes Specialist and even he was like, uh, I don't have that software... damn!

I really don't need anything done YET.. but I am approaching 30 K so I know it will be time for some maint. soon, and wanted to get some advice before going anywhere and getting the " oh look a stupid girl, let's rip her off" treatment- which is what I got at my local Dodge dealers- Franklin Sussex Auto Mall - they actually tried to tell me that a cylinder misfire on my Dakota was that I needed " spark plugs" ? Only I put platinums in less than 3 K earlier. Pf!

Thanks for the advice, Dirty Jersey Represent! Happy new year

Avoid any of the Johnson Dodge dealerships, they'll overcharge for every little thing. I've never been to Franklin Sussex Auto Mall but their website has decent prices on parts for the Crossfire and their shipping is pretty quick. If you know how to fix a problem and need a part go to that website.

There is a good place in Fair Lawn, NJ on Saddel river road. At one time all of the mechanics worked for MB.

Auto Sumser Inc

I use Broadway Performance in Passaic, NJ.

They do really good work, I use them for anything I can't handle myself. They do a lot of high end work on Mercedes, Ferrari, GT-Rs, etc.

Also, let me know if you want to grab a drink. I am always up for meeting new people in the area. I'm in Morristown.

Not to get too off topic, but thanks, Zahanma - that location brings back memories! I grew up in Passaic, and my grandparents lived two buildings over from where Broadway Performance is now. My how the neighborhood has changed!

I agree that the looks of the neighborhood can be deceiving and even the storefront does not scream high-end, but John Nouri (owner) and his group over there has built an excellent reputation for taking care of their customers and working on some really high end cars there.
