Default Mom's New Car

For her birthday, my dad just bought my mom a 2007 Cadillac STS, white diamond, V8 Luxury Performance. Great car. Surprisingly FAST! 320 hp.
Should be...very nice.

Very nice car. I hope she enjoys it. May I ask what line of work is your Dad in? Sounds like he's having a great time!

I traded mine when I got the Crossfire and 300C. Nice quality vehicle with lots of leather. Dad would enjoy it. Sounds like you have a neat Dad. PM me if you don't want to post publicly but I would be curious the about what hits he had. I think its neat.

Do you care to share who he is exactly? Or maybe what his #1's were?

Great minds think alike... j/k. It's the other way around for me. I'd trade the Crossfire for the XLR in a heartbeat, but there is one minor problem... $$$. It's too expensive for my budget. At least you had one, good for you, but I can't believe you traded down to the Crossfire. The XLR is way more exclusive and impressive than Crossfire.

I never keep a car more than a year and sometimes only a couple of months. I get board with them. That is what has me excited about the Crossfire 9,000 miles later and it is still the car of choice. The 300C only has 3,000 miles on it. Funny thing was I was at the Chrysler dealership and the service manager said to me you have a 300C and you're driving this? Hey I'm glad I bought the Crossfire but talk about counter productive. Yea make me feel like a jerk for driving one of there products!

I think the XLR looks great with the top up, but when you let it down it's just too flat and boring.

I'm afraid so. I'm not much of a country music buff. Especially so when your dad was a current notable.

Well, looking back at this, I discover I have one more question. Our Cadillac STS has a 4.6L V8 producing 320 hp and 315 lb-ft of torque. The SRT-6 has a 3.2L SUPERCHARGED V6 producing 330 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. For those of you who own/have driven one, you know that this STS is a very quick car. What i'm asking is: Does anyone know the differences/similarities of the acceleration and power of the two are? Does the SRT have the same "get up and go" of the STS? Does it have the same whip-lash effect to your neck when you step on it? Any insight would be extremely appreciated.

I've never driven an STS but the first time I punched the accelerator in my SRT-6, my head was swimming by the end of the highway entrance ramp.

The SRT6 should have more - it's got more power and weighs less. Take a look at the power to weight ratios:
2007 STS V8 - 4,006 lbs, 320 hp
2005 SRT6 Coupe - 3,240 lbs, 330 hp

Each HP for the Caddy is hauling 12.52 lbs.
Each HP for the SRT6 Coupe is hauling 9.82 lbs.

Okay. Do you think that the SRT-6 has the same sweet sound that the Cadillac has when you punch it?
