Default a pic of my new Z

i know there will be crossfire bias, but oh well. so far the only feature my crossfire had that the z doesn't is a deployable spoiler and a hood with shocks that open vertically.

Car is beautiful, lots of luck with it. I definitely like the coupe more than the Z Roadster but if I'm getting a 2 seat sports car its gonna have a removable roof. At least with the XF I find both models equally attractive.

I'm surprised the Z didn't come in a Targa form. If it did then I would probably look for one eventually.

Still a nice looking car, I am sure a lot of us drove them to compare what we were buying, I know I did... I just see too many of the z's on the road... the crossfire still has the wow factor even though I have an '04. Have fun with your new ride!!!

Sharp ride. I like the Z. Is it as much fun to drive as the Crossfire ?

oh yeah. it feels a lot smoother than the crossfire (less rough riding due to the longer wheel base--the wheels are on the four corners, whereas on the crossfire the rear wheels are right behind you). what was said about the rack and pinion steering in a previous post was true. you can feel everything (not in a bad way). the steering feels more precise and sensitive. zero turn lean also. the first night i took it into town i took a 90 degree exit ramp that i used to take in the crossfire at 65 mph; it gripped perfectly. the vdc (traction system that can be completely turned off) is a lot more lenient on letting you punch it also (very little if any lag--i have yet to see the "slip" light come on). i still haven't taken it all the way to 7,500 rpm yet because of the break-in period. the gears are a lot closer in the Z too.

i know a lot of y'all may have tested the old Z, but the new one has an 80% changed engine. i test drove an '03 before i test drove the '07. complete difference. the '07 is a quieter ride (wind noise) with a louder engine and exhaust.

yeah i've seen at least 5 or 6 since i've had mine (about two weeks), but you still don't see many of the new style ('07 with the new hood and rims). i've only seen one other '07 and it was a red roadster.

and yeah, there is the "wow" factor with the crossfire, but i'll honestly tell you in the week i've had the Z, i've had as many looks if not more than i did with the crossfire. maybe because it's black (rare color in Zs around here). instead of getting questions like "what is that?" i get "nice car." and imo, the new hood design for the engine gives the z a much sleeker appearance that is comparable to the sleekness of the crossfire.

thanks. on the Z forum, there's a pic of someone who did a hard top convertible conversion on theirs. it looked pretty good. it had the opel speedster look.

Nice ride.

Early on there was a problem with the tires wearing too quickly. Did they ever fix that issue on the Z?

I still miss my '77 280Z...

ben,

i'm not sure, but i do know that the tires for the Z are quite a bit cheaper than the crossfire tires - not as wide.

I don't think the z would be able to take a turn 25 mph faster than the crossfire, but meh, that's just me. Imho the crossfire handles better, due largely to what you just mentioned, huge tires.
