Default Frogwings

About six years ago I found, and bought this little beast from a lady in a nearby town. I was looking to buy an old Galaxie she had in her field when she told me about her husbands Hotrod. He had died seven years back and she had thrown a tarp over it and left it in a shed/chicken coop. I went out to look at it, not expecting much. But there under the tarps was a filthy brand new car. The paint was horribly dirty but in near perfect condition. I opened the door and it was like opening a sealed tomb. There was a slightly dusty, like new, custom Grey tweed interior. The glove box was crammed with receipts from the build. Under the hood was a freshly built, cammed up 289 with Holley carb, Edelbrock intake, Mallory Unilite distributed, with aluminum Cobra valve covers. I bought the car from her for $5000.00. We aired the tires, got it started, broke the brakes loose, and drove it up on the trailer in her driveway. After three years of almost daily driving it got in an accident. I was driving uptown in my never ending quest for chrome bolts for my Harley when an old man turned in front of it going in to get a drink at the local Burger King. He never looked, signaled, or even slowed down when he made the turn. It destroyed the grille, hood, bumper and right fender. It pushed the fender into the door, and the door into the quarter panel. The door and quarter panel weren't harmed but it chipped the paint. His insurance company paid me $5400. 00 to fix it. So that took some of the sting out of the ordeal. But the car has sat for two and a half years at a friends body shop waiting to get fixed.
Here is a picture of the car before the accident.

Well, after such a long wait the car has been moved to another shop and is finally starting to take shape. Here are pictures of the freshly painted engine bay in it's third green paint job. It's a custom mix me and my friend mixed up. I'm calling it Frogwing Metallic after the old line, "if frogs had wings they wouldn't bump their @sses when they hop". I figured since I'm painting a Hawk Frog green it was a fitting name. The cars name is Henry after Henery Hawk, the little chickenhawk in the Foghorn Leghorn cartoon since it was a Hawk in a chicken coop.

So anyway, here a few pics. Though My camera doesn't do the color or finish justice, it's much brighter in real life. Think Fooses Hemifear green.

Well, I'm starting to make progress on the ol' bird. I have the RRS power rack and pinion, suspension, one inch sway bar, roller spring perches, and scarebird disk brake setup on. I also put the new export brace and Monte Carlo bar put it. It's much better looking than the old clunky looking old export brace. I have been keeping the powder coating guys busy as well. So anyway, here are some more pics that do the car no justice.
