Default Lexus LFA

I saw a commercial for this car, but didn't catch the whole thing, just saw a quick glimpse of the body lines. While I was on Newegg.com planning a new computer build (centered around the AMD 965 3.4GHz Quad Core Deneb if you must know...) and I saw a banner ad for that car.... Didn't know it was a Toyota, errr I mean Lexus. The side profile makes me think of an Aston Martin. $.8L V10 propelling the car to 60 in 3.6 seconds according to their website. 202 mph top speed, hope the brakes work cause things come up quickly @ 200 mph... If I had $375,000 I could see myself rockin that car, only after driving that SL Black edition.

It is definitely a great looking car and performs just as well. They actually went out and created a commercial of them shattering a glass with the exhaust note (yes it was actually done).

...on a sadder note, the lead test driver for Toyota died a couple weeks ago after he finished testing the LFA and then hit a BMW test car on the way out of Nurburgring...

the lexus lfa is a mean car but very expensive. i seen it at the chicago auto show. lexus built it to prove that they can build a sports car too. lexus will lose money by selling the car at 410,000 dollars.

Personally, i think its over priced. I also find the headlights/front very uninspired. None the less, they will all sell out and be shipped to Dubai where they will sit in a garage.

They actually sold out of the originally allotment for the US. Toyota went and actually alloted more to sell in the US... I"m sure stupid rich people will buy those too... Or should that say 'stupid, rich' haha.

Looks like an over grown celica to me. I'd rather spend that kind of money on the Mercedes SLS.

Agreed, and you could get almost 2
SLS vs LFA was just done in one of the auto mags....SLS came out on top.

Never been a fan of Toyota, Honda, or Nissan....they could make the a street car that does the 1/4 in 10sec, costs 10 grand, and gives the driver a happy ending... I would still never buy it.

Check out the terms - you actually can not "buy" one....sort of.

Lexus is trying to cut out the speculators from flipping the cars for a quick profit.
Once you are approved to LEASE/Buy the car, it is still the property of Lexus for the first two years - just like a regular lease. After two years title will be released and the car could be sold, after the hype is over.

It's your loss......not theirs.

Being prejudice toward a certain "Brand" of automobile has cost me way more than a $100,000.00 over the years. Maybe even as much as a half a million.

I understand there are choices and some are more limited than others.
I do what I can where I can. As long as there is an alternative I will usually go that way.

If I was to suddenly become a member of the "nouveau riche" crowd, and felt I just had to spend an obscene amout of money on something to drive, this would probably be it.
First Drive: 2009 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
Not because I think it's a better car, (on the contrary, I personally feel it's damned near impossible to beat the Japanese when it comes to building great cars) but because I just think it's so incredibly good looking.

One of the auto mags just compared the LFA to the GT-R..... Motor Trend maybe.

I thought it was funny how for the extra $300,000+ you only get a couple ticks better times than the GT-R. Imagine what you could do if you put $300,000 in mods on a GT-R or a ZR1 Vette!

For that matter.....let me put that kind of money into a SRT.......I bet I destroy that Toyot....I mean Lexus.

EDIT: Here's the link to Motor Trend's test. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...son/index.html

Personally, I'd skip BOTH of them, buy the newest Porsche 911 Turbo (a repeatable 0-60 of 2.8s), and use the remaining $200K to pay off the house and do some diversified investing.

Then, you'd be faster than both, debt free, and financially secure.

And you'd be able to fuel up without having to come back to a gaggle of people swarming your car.

When I was a single man, I used that term frequently as I'd often have a gaggle of women inside the hot tub.

Now, I just have one; but it's a prize-hen, so I'm certainly not complaining
