Default So, apparently...

Lancia has re-birthed the Stratos? I had no clue this had taken place until moments ago. I have always loved the old Stratos. And, just like last time, a Ferrari powerplant is implemented, but now with two more cylinders?

Bricks were shat.

You could say that again. WOW, Talk about loving this going retro thing that's been happening the last few years in the auto industry. Just hope a Lamborghini throwback isn't in the works. Don't think it would fair too well against what John Deere is putting out these days. LOL

Sounds heavenly. Wonder if it weighs less than a 430?

You know it buddy! Still wish someone would have talked you into getting a mold from your hood so we could share the great looks your car has but alas, it wasn't to be. Here's to you and your truly one-of-a-kind throwback! BTW, you need to get with Jim and see if he'd be willing to let you in on his rear quarter window treatment. Would really look sharp on your car as it does his.

How long before someone says it reminds them of a Crossfire?

Thanks for sharing John. No problem with the Deutsch as the exhaust note was universial. Beautiful car.

This actually isn't Lancia thats making the car, it's some rich guy and his richer father who made a one off so it's very unlikely it will reach production. None-the-less it is a cool car and a great interpretation of the old Stratos.

Pretty extensive for a kit car. Is Lancia even still in business? Haven't seen a new car come from them since the HF Integrale.

The fact that this guy did a one-off with center-lock wheels and production-esque DD features is truly impressive.

An old thread I know, but just saw this on Automobilemag.com.
New Lancia Stratos Blocked by Ferrari - Rumor Central
Apparently this car is dead for the time being.

Probably killed it because it would be lighter and faster, and (dare I say it) more sought after by collectors.

Well, Lamborghini doesn't have to do a throwback to build a tractor - they still make them. HOME

But what they did do a few years back was an updated concept of the Miura, though it never made it to production (obviously). 2008 Lamborghini Miura Concept - 2006 Detroit Auto Show - Automobile Magazine

Unfortunately, Ferrari is currently blocking the production of the the new Stratos. It was built initially as a one-off, but then they decided to try and produce it. Since it is built on the 430 chassis, and uses the 430 engine, Ferrari said no-way and isn't letting them put it into production yet.

...hopefully it will see the light of day, but not looking very promising right now.

Looking closely at that engine picture, and now I know where Woody got this dual throttle body idea!

In fact, those throttle bodys look very much like ours. (But bigger)
