2 Cars I've Fell In Love With

Came across these 2 beautiful cars on Pintrest. Specifically the Toyota 2000GT. I still love it, just not enough to justify $1.1M only 351 were ever made. The Wiesmann GT is very Crossfire-esk as well. Im just such a sucker for these body types.

I've been a huge fan of the 2000GT ever since 1967 when I first saw it in the James Bond movie (You only live twice). Unfortunately, like the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, 67 Corvette Coupe, and Mid 60's XKE coupe, they are all priced well out of my price range.:(

Two cars I have always yearned for are the the Cadillac XLR-V & the 3000GT VR-4 convertible. I have a knack for odd/rare cars. 3000GT VR-4 convertibles are about as rare as they come & XLR-V's are just plain badass.

One of my customers drove in to check on his car we were building for him.
It was a stealth version of the 3000 vr4 and was a convertible.
I thought they didn't make them like that.
He replied they didn't really they made this one for Jeff Gordon.
It was pretty darn cool.

I saw a video on how they built those 3000GT roadsters when they 1st. came out. I think it might have been on "Motor Week".
Anyway, I liked the way they looked, but they sure had to "butcher" the coupe up to build it.
I had a red 3000GT coupe for awhile, and really liked it. Had a red Stealth as well. I liked the 3000 better because it had a manual trans.:)

Fun fact: The company that "converted" the coupes to convertibles for Mitsubishi was the same company that built the 240SX & 300ZX convertibles for Nissan.

There was a VR convertible I followed for years. Each time I encountered the owner he told me it would never be sold. One day it was, but not to me.

The local Mitsubishi dealer special ordered two 3000s and a VR4 for family members in Black, red and white. Had the VR4 not been the red one, it might have been mine today. I found it to be the perfect allseason car if a bit overstyled.

I believe the top conversion was done by the same company which converted my Dakota and provided the sunroof for my Jensen Interceptor, American Sunroof Corporation.
