Dodge Demon
So does this explain DCX's obvious lack of interest in promoting the Crossfire?

Re: Dodge Demon
i love it!! saturn has a baby corvette, now daimler has a baby viper. i love the car too.
|
Re: Dodge Demon
oh yeah, alot of s2k in there too.
|
Re: Dodge Demon
Not to mention some 350Z... a dash of MX-5, the list goes on... just another clone if you ask me.
I'll keep my unique Crossfire SRT6 thanks... :D |
Re: Dodge Demon
Styling on that thing is just pure gross. It looks WAY too thrown together. The designer should have his eyes examined.
|
Re: Dodge Demon
yeah, until it has a 300 hp motor from the caliber srt.
|
Re: Dodge Demon
That has even less horsepower than the non-SRT Crossfire! Going in the wrong direction!
|
Re: Dodge Demon
Just plain ugly.
Another sacrilegious use of a classic muscle car name on a no go K car. Sebring anyone? A Charger with four doors? Lee, you should have let Chrysler go out of business when you had the chance. This is getting embarrassing. |
Re: Dodge Demon
well, this will sell for around 20k - 25k hopefully and will actually sell due to the tuner market being interested in the 2.4 ... problem with the crossfire is they sat for a few years and then sold for 20k ... i blame that on chrysler's lack of advertising and high expectations for sales ... other manufacturers have been perfectly content with selling the numbers the xF did for such vehicles ... lets face it, this is not a practical car so it won't sell to 90% of the population.
can't wait to see a SRT model of the demon ... |
Re: Dodge Demon
I couldn't get the link to work, but I found an article here:
http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a.../1002/BUSINESS Oh my. That thing is a disaster IMO. Kind of like an s2000 with a Charger front clip, with all kinds of other mis-matched pieces slapped on. Makes you wonder what in the heck DCX is thinking. |
Re: Dodge Demon
I'd say it is a worthwhile car - If they keep the price BELOW $20k, it would compete directly with the Solstice/Sky/Miata/S2000 cars - which are not in the class of the Crossfire, being all 4 cylinder powered - and if an 'SRT' version is offered - I believe with the light weight, it would easily out perform the 'Sky Redline' etc - But I am sure the name won't fly - they will have the same issue they had in '72 when they changed the 'Demon' over to 'Dart Sport' because of the religious groups that had to complain. ... :D Go for it DC!

Re: Dodge Demon
I spy Boxer, Charger and Viper. It seems alot of cars are "drawing" from other designs lately, have you seen the new Mitsu Lancer? I do like the Lancer but I can see Audi in the grill treatment, Acura TL down the side and some Volvo even. Sorry to go off course. ;)

Re: Dodge Demon
How can anyone not say that is a sharp looking car.
Mind boggling. |

Re: Dodge Demon
I haven't said that it's a sharp car or not.
What I DID say is that I see too many other styles rolled up on it. It has it's own look, but just barely. The hints of 350Z are nice and a few (VERY FEW) styling cues are it's own. Other than that... it reminds me of another clone. I got to drive a solstice last year... SUCKS for power and the suspension is soft. It is a cute car if you are in it for looks and not performance. The Demon will be the same way. Show not Go. I stick with my original statement ... I keep my Unique Crossfire SRT6... Show AND Go baby! :D |
Re: Dodge Demon
I really do like it...but they will have to keep the price down as some one said to compete with that market. You are very right the Solstice/Sky are nice looking cars (except for the cheap looking tops) but they do lack power and sophistication like the Crossfire has. If the Demon does well and I bet it will then bring out an SRT version and go for the power.

Re: Dodge Demon
Those are def. Audi TT taillights, hint of a curvy G35 backend, stance like a 350, trunk lid like a 350, and Charger grille.
We could go on about the combination of what it looks like but I kind of like it. I personally like the Sky better, though I wouldn't mind having the SRT-4 engine paired with it. I think it could sell with all the baby roadsters being the "in" thing. |
Re: Dodge Demon
Every time I clicked on windingroad.com I lose my internet access. So I found another website with some more photos of the Demon concept.
http://www.automobilemag.com/auto_sh...demon_concept/ I'm going to reserve my comments for later. I still haven't made up my mind. |
Re: Dodge Demon
I just wish Chrysler/Dodge would looose the ugly arse front Grill... it was ok on a pickup truck but it needs to stop there!!!
|
Re: Dodge Demon
EXACTLY!!!
Lose the oversized grille. Enough already! It's turning every car it touches into a train wreck. I'm not too fond of the way the quarters draw away from the rear fenders. The line is OK but the slope on the fenders look too sloppy and lazy. |
