Re: 2010 'Stang - 12 sec right out of the box - $46K
I think it was a GT500 that was at the track at last years (DEC) event in Phoenix with cruzinquick and the rest of us.
Believe it was doing clutch testing. I'm not a Mustang/Ford guy but these cars sound sweeeeeeeeeeeeet! |
Re: 2010 'Stang - 12 sec right out of the box - $46K
I've never cared for the Mustang, either (just so darn many of 'em) but this 2010 is a total make-over. Find a site and check out the interior of the GT - premium materials, nicely done.

Re: 2010 'Stang - 12 sec right out of the box - $46K
Have seen quite a few 2010 mustangs around and they are a lot more refined than the last gen, but still a mustang to me.
I have yet to see any of the tuned ones tho, only V6 and GTs so far. |

not a fan at all, you can not throw a rock 2 feet without hitting 9,000,000,000,000 mustangs. I guess if you wanted to rob a bank that would be a great getaway car, as you pull out into traffic you would blend in with the other 50 billion mustangs on the road and they would never find you lol.

Re: 2010 'Stang - 12 sec right out of the box - $46K
They mention at the end that Camaros and Challengers won't keep up-for $46K I'm not surprised. the Camaro can go through a Lingenfelter transformation for less than that price. I know it's true 'cause I saw it on TV. $43K as I recall, 550+HP and a bunch of bells and whistles.
I wouldn't mind seeing that race... |
Re: 2010 'Stang - 12 sec right out of the box - $46K
Around 540 hp and only a 12.6? That's pretty pathetic if you ask me. Put on some slicks though and it should hookup and easily run 11's. I do like the car other than just the 1/4 mile performance. It has to be a monster up on top.
Here's a great video and gotta love the sound! Watching the nose rise while he gets on it is exhilarating! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZkx87P6-pM |

10s are out I saw about10 shelbys at the dealership. Prices might go up on them if Caroll Shelby passes away. Rumor has it hes pretty sick. The car is to heavy. THe GT500KR is like a tank. If they took about 1000 lbs off the car it would be a contender. Any car pushing 2 tons is a king all right kind of the fatties.

Re: 2010 'Stang - 12 sec right out of the box - $46K
yes, but Ford racing will sell you a race ready Mustang...right out of the box...and Ford is the only manufacturer still doin' that...I'm an old Camaro/Vette guy, but these "twang's are tempting for an everyday driver...I stopped at a dealer in IL, and looked at a P51 version Mustang, named after the famous fighter plane, and not many were built...too much money, but it was neat...

I like it. if they would only put the old mach 1 body on this drivetrain

Dodge was making Viper competition coupes that you could order through the Mopar Performance magazine.............don't know if they're still doing it though. Dodge is also supposed to be offering a race only stripped down Challenger that can run 10's out of the box(depending on engine setup/selection) and setup specifically for drag racing. The only Mustank I like is the 1971 Mach 1.................it's the ONLY one that ever looked like it was a fast car(even though it still wasn't) to me. |

Kinda like a Saturn or Buick, they're everywhere! Granted, I like the sound of this particular breed & there's no doubt that it's speedy but..............it's still a Mustang. |

Ok Kurt what about the Buick Grand National. Good setup and killer engine. My grandpa calls it the buick that got away.
